The other option would be alternate reality. We've had to deal with aberrations in both, since you've been gone, so either is admittedly likely. I tend to think it more associated with a time distortion than an alternate reality distortion, in this case, considering what others have experienced, but I'm happy to entertain evidence to the contrary.
