[He approaches, watching her with interest. He doesn't bother announcing his arrival, still a bit too brash for that.]

What do you need me to do?

I did, however, see 243 'primordial slugs'.

And I shot every last one of them.

[That says plenty right there, even without her acting like a fool and then having a meltdown. The fool part he could probably glean from the network just fine, though.]

[...okay, that stops her for a second.] Big Bertha?

[When he arrives, he'll find her crouched beside the stove with her arm in the crack behind it, feeling around in the various mechanics. Assessing what needs to be disconnected before she can haul it away from the wall entirely.

This is pretty much just busiwork between conversations, so don't worry, he's not interrupting.]

[At the sound of his voice, she's leaning back away from the stove, then reaching up to use the unlit top to pull herself up.]

Actually, nothing. [Shepard leans casually against the counter now.] I was going to ask if you had any thoughts about the meeting. Things you didn't want to say in front of the crowd. People you're not sure we can trust.

[She's trying to get a feel for things to know what her next step might be, and gathering opinions from the people she's a little more sure about is her first course of action.]

Oh dear.

Any casualties?

[femshep]

None. Some of the walls have a few-dozen more holes, but everyone else was apparently smart enough to stay the hell out of range.

It's what I call the alien ship. I just got tired of calling it 'the alien ship' all the time. Ships should have names.

Good. I'm glad.

[If he knew Shepard better, he might have made a joke about a dinner date, but he's not sure how she'd take it.]

We're on our way, Commander.

[It's lunch, thanks much. But in general, from someone she knows isn't a raging idiot? She's not too bad at taking a joke.]

[When they get there, she'll be in the middle of surveying the appliances to figure out how they worked.]

No one that I saw. But I'll keep an eye out.

Ah, well. I...had my own experience with the fog. Apparently I'm not quite as immune as I thought.
