[Wing was some distance away, but he's taking care now when he flies to fly nap of the earth, close to the ground to attempt to fox any radar devices. He arrives just after the agent, unfolding into his robot mode, dropping to a crouch.]

[Kay is there and waiting. He has his notepad, where he's copied as much as possible from the ship schematics that Narvin pulled up, as well as what he's found so far. He's waiting near the entrance of the ship.]

[He's sitting on one of the old stools, something that looks like a ring sitting on the counter next to him as he flicks through notes he's been taking.]

Mind if I meet you by the ship? [Because he's a little too paranoid to say what he wants over the network. They might be able to work it out, but dammit, he wants that edge and he doesn't want the Outer Authorities going after what he figures out if he succeeds.]

[ He slips in quietly, with the unobtrusive attitude of a practiced drifter. ]

[ Slips onto the stool next to him. ]

So I assume you had a discussion with our Dome-born friend.

Not yet. [He admits.] Have you spoken with him? Poor kid was sent through the ringer. I wanna give him a little bit of hope before I do anything else.

Turns out the Dome isn't half so lovely as it looks.

[He picks up the ring and turns it in his fingers, thinking about the domes.]

He thought he'd find people out here. Family, friends, people who disappeared. A resistance.

And frankly, I'm surprised there isn't more of one. The news is controlled, the population is controlled, people who think about the outside are found and disposed of. The government is a totalitarian nightmare.

They probably don't live long enough to spread much of a word. Hence the masks.

[He thinks about it, before putting the ring down.] Litmus Chronograph. If you touch the bottom side against someone, even through cloths or a layer of disguise it can tell whether the individual is homo sapiens sapiens. If they are, the grid on the ring will be blue. If they're not, it'll be red.

...I think we have enough technology that if we can find the right meta-humans, we can give him a boost until a definite cure can be found. I want to know more about that government, and where he got out.

[ Charles picks it up, and, after a brief pause, touches it to his own skin.

Red. ]

Well, that decides that.

[ Is that a hint of disappointment in his tone? ]

Don't sound so down. Everybody's gotta evolve sometime. [He pulls out his notepad.] Thing is, if this works, the Authorities might be interested in knowing who it was I used for it. I can wipe my memories, easy, but I'd rather give them as few resources as possible.

[Meaning if Charles found the people with the immunities and got the samples, Kay wouldn't have to know who precisely they were. No amount of mind-reading or torture (not that torture would work anyway) would drag it out of him.]
