I believe it would be more correct to say that when last you recall, humans did not have any colonies in space. From my perspective, you have spent the last several decades busily establishing them. But as we do not currently know how long any of us spent in cryo-stasis, it is difficult to determine the current state of galactic affairs. Which does not even begin to touch on the question of alternate realities...

[Not that she had mentioned them to Liara by name, but the asari is prone to considering anything not encrypted as fair game, and mentions of extraplanetary invasion still draw her attention.] She and several of her contemporaries have been here a few weeks now; given the commonality of social ties between those waking from the ship, perhaps you would recognize some of them as well.
