[Natasha's dealt with some strange things in the last few days, but waking up a space ship is probably the weirdest. the disorientation is frustrating, but she works through it, quickly finding her things before examining the pod she'd woken in, twisting her phone around in her hands before turning it on and speaking]

I'm looking for a Clint Barton and Nick Fury. Preferably intact and as soon as possible.

[she's all ready beginning to browse through the network it hooks to, gathering what intel she can as she starts making her way through the ship]

Alien spaceships, prehistoric worlds, giant cities and dinosaurs. Anything else I should know? If this is another one of Loki's games, I'd like advanced warning this time.

[and she steps out of the ship to finally see the world herself, going still a moment, lips pressed tight and head tilting to the side]

Yeah, definitely not Earth.

Should have been. But the ecosystem is thriving, and there's no way that ship's been in that crater long enough for it to have recovered.

My gut feeling says they were human. Which is - impossible, I know, but most of the people they snatched are human, which means those pods were designed to be compatible with our physiology on a wide scale. Aliens are the anomaly, and so far, we haven't seen more than one member of each species.

I guess I hadn't thought of that. I know I'm a pretty cool guy.

[Oops. And he'd been doing so well for... a matter of seconds, there.]

Um... So, ja, that's what the situation is. Mostly. Might have forgotten stuff but I think I got all the big points.

If it crashed, it was the most controlled crash in the history of the word. Either that, or the civilization that used to be here could generate domes like the one outside on demand - which is an outside shot, but not one we should rule out.

[Especially if they can find and repurpose that technology to help fix the ship and get out.

He pauses for a moment.]

No idea. Dr. Banner's got a team studying the pods - they might have some thoughts on the medical science behind it. But most of the nonhumans have been pretty close to human. Bipedal, bilateral symmetry, similar enough digestive processes that no one's died of starvation yet. Which, you know, given the variation in species just on our planet, would make for a pretty big coincidence.

I'm not sure how I feel about being the expert, but sure. I like being helpful.

No, ma'am!

[Not if he wants to keep his tail, he suspects, not that he's inclined to dishonesty. Much. When he is, it's generally in the interests of preserving teenaged feelings and he feels dreadful later.]

The future. [a pause with a furrow of the brow, considering] Well, the future for you too.

I assume you've seen the ship.

Right now I'm at the local hospital -- it's one of the few purpose-built spaces still being used for its purpose, and they were nice enough to give me office space.

[After she swept in to take over the orderly dispensation and acquisition of medical supplies... but still. Nice of them.]

Nothing's actively on fire if you want to come by -- anyone should be able to give you directions -- or if you've got some exploring to do first, I keep an apartment near it. Jane Foster's staying with me as well.

It has and it will, if I can just keep the supply chains for it smoothed out.

But I'll have a pot of tea on. Bring Bruce with you, if you can convince him and he's not in the middle of things -- he could probably use the break.

I'll see you soon.

The remains of the city look older than the ship. But it's possible. There are enough people - theoretically - if even half of those pods are still working.

And no. I don't think anyone's tried. Apparently, they're the "shoot first, interrogate the corpse later" types. [Whether he's speaking of the Authorities, the locals, or their fellow abductees isn't entirely clear.] There's some interesting viewing in the archives, if you're a fan of recent history. Or if you have popcorn.

Might I ask what you need these two fellows for? Just out of curiosity.

[The suggestion Isabela is making here is pretty obvious in her tone of voice and the smirk on her face. Horrible, isn't she.]

Not as fresh as you or Dr. Banner, but I can't say I know much more than you do. I was here for the very end of a dinosaur stampede. So um, there's some more interesting for you.

And with their toys. Which, actually, would be useful. Unless you know how to ride a horse.
