[After a day of wandering around the island market and learning a bit about this place, Thor has finally borrowed Kaidan's communicator, since he's not about to try making a call from inside a ship that sails under the water! So here he is, looking somewhere between confident, amiable, and concerned. Maybe concerned is a bit more to the forefront than he would like.]

Greetings! This is Thor Odinson of Asgard, and I was told there are people who know me who can hear this message. Stark? Doctor Banner? Can you hear me? I will keep this device on hand, please feel free to reply to my message later, if you cannot hear it yet.

[And that's that. He fiddles with buttons for a moment, carefully so as not to damage the delicate little thing, and then the feed shuts itself off.]

[Wait. He recognizes that comm signature. What the hell?]

I think the important question here is how you got out into the middle of the ocean.

Asgard? [That sounds familiar.]

Are you a friend of Loki?

[Aha, and there he is! Thor pulls up a smile for the familiar face, though it's tempered with a bit of uncertainty.]

I wish I knew, Stark. I was escorting my brother home to face our father, when I was wrenched from the tesseract's path and fell into the ocean. I know not what happened, or why.

[He has a couple theories, none of them particularly pleasant.]

Loki?

[Thor leans right into the camera on that one, looking both worried and fierce.]

Loki is my brother! How do you know him, metal man?

[Wing looks delighted, for his part. He's probably the only one here with fond memories of the strange man and his sorcery.]

He healed me, once, when he was here. With his sorcery.

[Wing is pleased he knows that foreign word.]

[ ... that doesn't sound like Loki at all. Looking puzzled, but still worried, Thor asks,]

When did you see him? When was he here?

[Tony doesn't even bother to hide his grimace.]

Great. Because we didn't have enough would-be world dictators around already.

[Is it possible Loki didn't get pulled off track too? Yes. Does it seem likely? That would be a hell of a lot more luck than they usually have.]

I have not seen or heard of him since I arrived.

[It's small consolation. He's still worried.]

There is a metal man telling me he met him, but long ago. And the Major told me your ship has been crashed here for a century. It is possible he will arrive in a future time, or has already arrived and been dealt with. I do not know.

[And trying to plan for all the possibilities makes his deity-like head hurt.]

Yeah, ignore the crazy robot. He'll believe anything you tell him. Literally.

[Which is alternately amusing and aggravating, for someone who speaks sarcasm as fluently as Tony.]

Speaking of crazy, you already have a fanclub. ...Actually, it's more like the exact opposite of a fan club. Have fun with that.

What?

[What's the opposite of a fan club? Or a fan club, itself, for that matter?]

What do you mean? Should I be concerned?

No idea. How do your people generally feel about being burned in effigy?

[And, being ever so helpful, he'll even send along a copy of the relevant video footage, though decoupled from the responses.]

[The communicator dings and buzzes and makes alerts pop up on the screen, but it takes an unfamiliar Thor a minute to figure out what to do. When he does, his brows go up.]

Oh. I cannot think of anything I have done to offend....

[He squints at the screen in mild confusion. She looks awfully familiar, indeed.]

Is that one of the Vanir?

That sounds vaguely familiar.

[ No.

No.

No.

Odinson. Of all people from home, it had to be Odinson. ]

What are you doing?

I must have a talk with her, then. She does look familiar. If she is one of the Vanir, that might explain why she is so....

[He gropes for a word.]

... put out with me.

[That is a familiar voice, though he can't quite place who it is. He frowns in polite confusion at the blank video screen.]

I am trying to make contact with my companions. May I ask who this is?

Nej.

[ She sticks her tongue out, even though he is unable to see her. ]

It was months ago. He crashed down from the sky--he said it was from something called Bifrost.

His ship, I think. [Because robot jets: everyone travels by ship, right?]

The bifrost?

[There's a twinge of guilt and unhappiness along with his confusion, there.]

The bifrost is not a ship. It is a road from realm to realm, a rainbow bridge. How could he have come from the bifrost when it was destroyed? And I have seen him since!

Have I done something to offend, my lady? I have hardly said a word so far.

[Though he's starting to wonder, a little bit, if this might be the woman who burned him in effigy in that video....]

You have certainly done enough in the past, Odinson.

Yes, that's it. [Please excuse his likely butchered pronunciation.]

[Wing furrows his brow.] Maybe that's why he fell?

[Pepper appears to be down in the Vault of Knowledge, if the stacks and shelves of records are an indication. Of course, for those unaware of what it is, it just looks like a library. Neat and sleek and with her hair pulled back in a tidy bun, she awards Thor a smile that masks most of her surprise at seeing him.]

Prince Thor, hello. I don't think we were ever introduced, but I guess you could say that your brother made a bit of an impression on my home.

[Tony apparently hasn't cornered the market on bad jokes, although Pepper delivers hers with a bit of wry sympathy in her expression.]

I'm Pepper Potts. Welcome to Verdana -- has the Bifrost extended this far?

[If anything, he looks even more hangdog at that. He isn't proud of the person he used to be, but it would be nice if people could acknowledge that he's grown up a little....]

If I have caused you grief in the past, my lady, I am sincerely sorry, and would make it up to you if I can.

[Prince Thor. Been a while since anyone's bothered with that one, it seems like! He offers Pepper a smile.]

Greetings, Pepper Potts. I, uh, would like to apologize for my brother and his rather poor impression?

[Slightly sheepish, there, but he continues gamely on.]

But no, I did not come here on the bifrost. It is, as far as I know, still broken and disconnected from Asgard entirely. I was traveling by tesseract when I was wrenched to this particular world.
