[After she'd gotten herself out of that stasis pod and dressed, holstered, and strapped up, Kerra Holt took a moment to have a look around. This was definitely not where she'd intended to wind up when she'd made that last jump. Hell, where was this? And...what freak had shoved her into a tube naked?

Of course, when Kerra found the commlink, she was definitely going to poke at it. And set off the video thing accidentally.]

Oh. OH! Hey. Video? That's...different.

[Not Sith-tech, unless it was from Calimondra. No way any of the others had that sort of thing. Or Republic make? Or...the Hutts. Either way, it was broadcasting.

Kriff. Broadcasting. That wasn't good. People could see her face. Well...time to put on a smile and ask some questions then, Kerra.]

Right. So. If you can hear this...I guess I'm the new girl around here. And I've obviously got a few questions for anyone with the inclination to answer. Starting with where the hell am I? What system? What Quadrant, even. I don't even know if I'm in the Core Worlds or out on the Outer Rim. Last I knew I was making a Hyperspace jump and now I'm here.

[And just to be safe...but polite at the same time, may as well give the other name.]

It's good to see you've woken up, Mercy. By now you'll have gotten the regular explanation, but what too many of my comrades seem to de-emphasize is that we are war.

The Outer Authorities. For survival. They don't much like us refugees. Or anyone outside the Dome.

I heard about the Dome. Some sort of environment dome. Any idea why?

[Wanda smiles at that. Good answer.] It protects them. From us, or something else, I'm not sure.

We're working on a few things. There's a Militia, but it's pretty half-hearted.

From us? Who started it?

And what do you mean half-hearted? If they're trying to kill us...?

They did. I doubt hiding from us was the original purpose. I'd guess it has to do with the thing that brought us all here. A cage for it, a shelter for it. Maybe a hospital.

I meant our Militia. The Outer Authorities are plenty dedicated to wiping us out.

Right. This...ship thing. I guess it's a ship.

[A shrug]

I meant the militia too. If they're trying to kill us, why is it half-hearted?

For whatever reason the Authorities have found wiping us out entirely inconvenient up until this point. They think we'll just antagonize them into attacking more if we fight.

But what choice do we have?

What do the Authorities do, exactly?

In general? I don't think people out here know. To us? Air raids were the most recent thing, unless they were also behind the plague that struck recently.

Air raids and plagues? Great. Just...what I needed.

[She scrubs her face with her hands, clearly frustrated. Still, this was better than the Odionate. Probably.]

And...if they aren't magic, where do they come from?

[Wanda counters with what is technically a smile, but still manages to look mostly annoyed.] Genetics. My body emits a certain kind of energy which, when controlled, can accomplish those things.

[Kerra breathes out a sigh she didn't know she was holding.]

A...non-human? Or, human mutant? Not...trying to pry, but there are things...well...people...who do things like that through unnatural means where I'm from.

Human mutant. [Wanda nods at that. Not bad for a first guess.] I assure you, my powers are fully natural in origin. None of whatever dark sorceries and blood magicks you're worried about.
