[Hey, look who's found his way onto the network again! Finally! Thor is smiling cheerily, and maybe a little bit like he's going stir-crazy, at the camera on his phone. He's also not in his armor, but a rather nice blue tunic with some gold embellishments. Somebody did some shopping while across the ocean.]

At last, we are again in range! Hello, my friends in the Old City! It is Thor Odinson, and we are on our return trip. Apparently we will be arriving at the end of the week, but we are not to speak of that until we strike land again.

[And Thor, while a bit of an airhead, is still trying to abide by the rules.]

Have we missed anything of import? Is everyone still well? Please, regale me!

[And keep him from being bored. Please.]

It is. We're an exploratory vessel that defends Federation space.

[She's totally amused at the seated bow.]

How are you enjoying the boat trip?

Yeah. Which is better than vanished or dead, but not a lot.

[He runs a hand through his hair, standing it briefly up in spikes before it resettles.]

I haven't seen much of the Wonder Twins, either, but I have it on good authority they're still around. Which reminds me. How good are your brother's illusions?

[It's been a while since anyone actually complimented him in that particular fashion, and Thor's smile in return is a bit boyish in its pleasure.]

Thank you, Lady Potts. That is very kind of you to say. The tailor who traded them to me did mention my eyes.

[So maybe he's a tad bit vain, too. Between the face and the rank, he does sometimes like to dress it up. He prefers armor, but when he can't have that, his clothes need to be up to snuff.]

I have learned a bit about building, through this endeavor, as well. Perhaps I will be of more use when I arrive at your City.

[Confused by the unexpected change in subject, Thor tilts his head at Tony's image on the screen and frowns before answering.]

They are quite good. He is a master sorcerer. They have no substance to them, however, and are visual and audible only. That is the true way to determine what is an illusion and what is not.

[He pauses, follows the train of thought to its obvious confusion, and asks,]

Do you have reason to worry about Loki's illusions, Stark?

Rather dull, this time. The trip across at first was quite bracing. We were attacked by a five-headed sea-serpent, and even before and after that, there were tasks to be done aboard the ship.

[He shakes his head, expression melting into regret and disappointment.]

Now, we are confined to one corridor and the eatery. There is very little we are free to do.

You mean aside from him apparently being on this planet, and wrapping your Number One Fan and her genius friends around his little finger? Curiousity.

A sea serpent? Good God, was anybody hurt?

[She's giving the screen a startled look. Forget being bored, this is what she wants info on.]

[Thor might have guessed that was where Tony was headed with that line of questioning, but it still somehow takes him by surprise. He sits up sharply with wide eyes and an expression both hopeful and worried.]

He is there? Is he well? Has he caused no trouble? Did the tesseract come with him?

There were some injuries, and apparently its blood and venom were toxic, but as far as I am aware everyone has recovered from their injuries well enough. That fellow Mordin was a good help to the injured.

[Her lips are pressed in a line that tightens when she swallows. Part of her really wishes she had been there to help. Not that she doubts the medical expertise of Mordin, from what she's been told of him, but just because she always wants to help.]

I'm glad to hear they're recovering. I take it you weren't among those hurt?

Aside from people disappearing and turning up dead where they weren't even supposed to be?

[Okay, so there's no proof that Loki's involved with any of that, but he finds the timing suspect.]

Good to know you didn't have a blind tailor, then.

[From others this might sound flirtatious. From Pepper, it's delivered with simple poised friendliness as a statement of fact before moving on to other topics.]

If you think construction projects might be something to occupy your time between dinosaur hunts with, there's a young man called Armand here, another recent arrival, who's also been trying to find things to do with himself. Maybe the two of you could go into business.

[Thor laughs a little at that.]

I am not so sure of my skill as all that, just yet. I should like to try my hand at something I will not have to make others deal with. Give me time to practice. Though if this Armand of yours is skilled, I would be... glad to take instruction.

[Sort of glad, anyway. Thor is working on this humble thing, he really is, and putting himself under the tutelage of a mortal will probably help that. Right?]

[Look at all this dismay and disappointment, Stark.]

Is he responsible for their deaths, then? What has he done?

[He fully expects Loki, if he's responsible, to have announced demands and plots for world domination or something by now. Apparently if he can't have Earth, he'll have Verdana?]

No, and not likely to be in the future, either, so I will not likely need your care, my lady nurse. I am rather difficult to damage, compared to a human. I believe one of the heads tore my cloak, and I may have been a little bruised, but it healed quickly.

Well, we nurses always say we like it the less we see of you, meaning you aren't coming in injured, so that's good to hear.

Oh, he's a complete beginner too... which is actually why I think you two might work well together.

[Pepper's personnel skills have not atrophied on Verdana, it seems. She reaches behind her to snag the cat before it can go on another rampage and settles the creature on her lap as she explains.]

Armand strikes me as both intelligent and very conscious of his own dignity and he seems to have a lot of pride, some of which seems to hang on coming off as competent and knowledgeable about what he's doing. This, as you might guess, makes it a challenge to adapt to a new world where you know very little. I've been helping, but I think if he was working with someone like you, who can face the unknown and learn new skills and still stay confident, it might help him.

[And while she doesn't really know Thor personally, she knows a big brother when she meets one.]

[Everyone probably knows that about Thor, without actually knowing him personally... he chuckles.]

Very well. I will give it a try for his sake, when I return, if you will be so kind as to introduce us. Or should I give him a call on this communicator? I am still only borrowing Major Alenko's when he has time to lend it to me.

[Another thing he needs to take care of when he's in the City.]

Is that so? Then I will endeavor to keep others out of your care, to the best of my ability.

[He'd do that anyway, but it seems nice of him to say it, about now, right?]

Thanks for that. I guess I'll have to get used to the loneliness.

[It's said lightly, as a joke. She knows she can meet up with people at the Flop, the Ship, or anywhere in between.]

[Darwin grins] I am female, but don't be concerned. I don't mind the mix-up.

I wish you had too, to be honest. It's quite disappointing to be the only one of my kind, here. It's a pleasure to meet you, Odinson, but I do need to ask - Nine Realms?

No idea. The ren faire idiots have been hiding him. Which makes me wonder how they remember to breathe, but that's really not the point.

[It wasn't supposed to be this way.]

[He'd already decided. Thor would return, explain why on earth he'd joined a diplomatic mission, and sit around being cheerful and unhelpful while Loki got the two of them home. They'd leave behind the uncomfortable place and its strange machines and unfamiliar magic, and he'd even start leaving the temple again, his appreciation for Asgard renewed by this stint in the grim little city on the edge of no world at all.]

[Loki has been quietly regarding his communicator for hours, making himself accept what he'd been trying to deny. There aren't just different Midgards. But he'd know his brother in any guise, and it's better to get this over with. Then, when Thor returns, they can plan from there.]

Circumstances have gone more awry than I had realized.

[Of course he tries to sound aloof and mildly bored, but his voice cracks when he speaks. Loki--this Loki has a bit of a fixation on being both tidy and unremarkable to look at. At this age, it's one of many ways he copes with his place, the shadow to his brother's sunlight. Short hair, modest bearing, and no finery at all, but not a speck of dust or a thread out of place. Looking exhausted and disheveled and not posing to hide any interesting feature says a lot about just how distressed he is.]

Well, I hope not lonely, my lady. No one should be left lonely, especially not lovely ladies.

[Not quite flirty. But close. He is quite loyal to his missing (sleeping) girlfriend, but he is also a charismatic princeling who does like ladies, in general. Especially pretty ones.]

Do you have friends who do not require you to heal them at regular intervals?

You do not know where he is?

[More dismay! And concern, too, because this does not sound like his brother at all, not the way he is now. He might hide for a little while, but not for long, and not when people who are trying to "hide" him.]

Have you spoken with him? Seen him?
