[Elissa almost warily opens the wooden box that serves as her communications device when it signals her. Her eyes widen slightly when she spies who it is and she looks sidelong as someone nearby before she blushes.]

Ah, greetings, Jack!

Hello... [He raised a brow] So, you mind telling me why you got some great authority over my choices on dating?

No! Nonononono. That is not at all what I meant.

[She looks sidelong again at someone nearby who is being very quiet. Or maybe it is the dog. Elissa clears her throat and finally has the good graces to look uncomfortable.]

What I was trying to say... was that... I know of someone who would be very disappointed, if you are not interested in going on a date.

[Elissa gifts the communications device with a quiet, subdued smile, trying her best to ignore what is going on at her side despite the tiny, painful, disbelieving noise that can barely be heard.]

Thank you for your honesty, Jack. There is no need to apologize to me for your gracious refusal.

[She clears her throat.]

Thank you for allowing me some of your time. I...

[An uncertain, regretful glance is given to something or someone off to the side again.]

[Distracted, Elissa closes the lid to the box to end the communication instead of waiting for his reply or pressing a button. As the video display grows dark and obscured, her small, apologetic voice still manages to filter through before the contact ends.] Oh, Akito, I am so, so, so sorry.
