How does somebody get a job around here? I'm starting to go a little stir crazy, just hanging around The Flop. I don't really have any professional skills, but I'm a quick learner and I'm really creative.

I happen to have that recently-opened cafe of mine. One of my staff ended up back in the pods, so if you're not entirely avoidant of food service work...

I'm an artist, actually. So yes, I've worked in food service before.

Piper's managing the day to day of the place, since I'm a businesswoman but not actually of the restauranteur kind normally. She'd be the one to talk to to hammer out your exact duties, but what have you done? And what do you do art-wise, for that matter?

Waitressing and bar tending, on and off. Nothing fancy. A couple of cheap family places and some dives.

I do paintings and pictures. A lot of abstract and surrealism.

If you're able to self-motivate on the job, then I think we've got a strong case for giving you a position at Callahan's. I prefer to give people part time hours, given that there are a lot of other things that might need the attention of someone from Salvation, and we'll do a couple weeks' trial run to see if things are working for you on Verdana. Get in touch with Piper and work out a schedule. I live in one of the apartments over the cafe, so I'll drop in now and again to see how you're getting on.

Another potential opportunity for you, then: I have a lot of empty walls in the place. If you had any pieces you wanted to display for sale, I'd be happy to give them space.

Okay, wow, thank you. I'll contact Piper to work out the specifics. I don't actually have much of anything right now...I just have my sketchbook and pencils with me. I'm hoping I can get my hands on some real art supplies soon.
