I also could use help getting my grapple gun back into usable condition, though I might be able to figure that one out on my own. And I have one knockout gas grenade left, so if anyone could work backwards from there...

Right. Fact is, I'm the danger and daring-do half of the equation. Left my mad professor back home, y'see. Can anybody lend a hand?

Yeah, I don't envy you your universe, peaches. Does sound like the government I know, though. Give 'em an inch, and they start secret rogue units and perform weird experiments on volunteers that you hafta run out and reverse before they blow up the monsters they made to save face.

If they're smart enough to use terrain and isolation to their advantage instead of shooting down old ladies in a back alley for a few credits, they probably are more organized than you think.

That doesn't really call for a lotta brainpower. I think they got their heads together enough to have pulled in an ambush, but it took 'em a while, and they seem to be good at that thing I hate with the nature everywhere.

...Point taken, though. Them not sendin' somethin' after me is a best-case scenario, and you can't get cozy with those.

Leaving aside the time a certain masked mystery man decided that he couldn't stand his then-unborn children thinking his secret identity was a coward after the war, joined the army, and wound up behind enemy lines for over a year?

Heroes who pose for pictures and make a point of public vendettas get a lot less done and lose in nasty ways a lot more often. Captain Owl lost a hand and had to retire, Mr. Amazing wound up half out of his gourd, Doc Rocket is probably the most targeted man in Canada, and Tom Tomorrow... Well, I'll never believe there was no other way to stop that invasion force.

It's true. The low tiers of supervillainy are pretty straightforward. It's when they get weird vendettas going and lose interest in profit that they get real funny.

Oh, don't even talk to me about the nemesis thing. The Mad Monkey has gotten so darn weird about the boss I sometimes want to lock them in a closet and let them work it out.
