[Currently a petite strawberry-blonde teen is clutching the pendant hanging from a ribbon around her neck as she scuttles between hiding places in the ship and stares with wide-eyed curiosity mixed with finite fear at the names located on the other pods located all around her. Yes, she is looking for specific names and is both dreading and hoping she might come across one she recognizes. There are thousands of pods here, however, and the fingers of her other hand begins to clutch more firmly at the small device she found with her clothing where she had first awoken. After a short hesitation, Chloe presses a button and brings the device to her lips.]

H-hello?

[A hesitating pause, then Chloe seems to find her courage--and outrage.]

Wh-whoever is in charge here, I really don't appreciate being left in the dark. Where am I, and why am I here? Wh-where is my Aunt Lauren, Derek, and the others? Haven't you done enough? Just l-leave us alone!

[If she was thinking clearly, she would realize the Edison Group never would have left Chloe her Swiss Army knife or can of mace... But she was kind of freaking out after waking up naked and without her pendant around her neck.]

Or else.

[Those two words sounded almost like a growl--something Chloe may have loosely picked up from her werewolf boyfriend. Despite the threat, her panicked mind silently taunted her: 'Or else what, Chloe?']

Wh-what if some people never wake up? Do you think that's a remote possibility?

Sooner or later we're gonna figure out how to control the pods.

[She's quite confident. They've made so much progress on the ship already, even if there was still a lot to be done]

Control? You mean to find a way to let everyone out, and wake them up?

[Chloe senses that confidence.]

H-how are you so sure?

...You should be careful doing it, and wake them in increments. Otherwise there might be mass confusion.

We're slowly gettin' everythin' else on the ship workin'. And we've got the AI online to point us in the right direction.

[And of course, that was a very good point. It was the plan, they did everything gradually.]

We'll test a few at a time. There's a lotta things to do first though.

AI? What information does this AI have?

[Nodding, Chloe begins to feel the first real bubble of hope spreading through her, mind already forming plans that would lead to gaining more information and where to go from there.]

I--I'd like to help. Is there anything I can do? I'm not an engineer of any kind, but I'm good at taking notes. If you need a secretary, or written records of information the AI can give us...

She's parta the ship, she knows the systems better'n we've been able to figure out so far.

That ain't a half bad idea. Gettin' it all down in case anythin' happens. Surprised Pepper ain't thought of it yet.

[To Chloe... it sounds too good to be true. No AI with a hidden agenda? Leading them on a wild goose chase? Maybe Chloe's seen one too many movies.]

And this AI seems helpful?

[The first emotion Chloe feels is relief when Kaylee seems to like her idea. The more information Chloe can get her hands on, the happier she'll be. And she really did want to help them get out of here.]

Oh, she's been real helpful so far, pointin' us toward what needs fixin' most of all and tellin' us a lot about how Salvation was supposed to work.

[She likes that she can basically talk to the ship, is what she's getting at.]

We'll let ya get settled in before puttin' ya to work, don't worry.

[Chloe nods silently.]

O-okay.

[Though getting 'settled' all on its own seems like a somewhat daunting project--being alone with everything unknown.]

Anyone pointed ya toward the Flop yet?

[She doesn't see anyone else nearby, but she'd heard Chloe on the communicator]

Not in person, but it's been mentioned. Someone is supposed to meet me here, I guess.

Is there a time and place I should come back to the ship? To take notes, I mean. Or should I meet the other person you mentioned about that? Pepper, right?
