My name is Charles Xavier. I am one of the awakened, from the ship. As far as I know, we are all from different times, and perhaps from different universes as well, and none of us knows how we came to be asleep on an unfamiliar spacecraft.

Has anyone a theory to present?

And one more thing. This may seem like an odd question, but... is there a large population center, nearby? I don't mean under the dome.

I wonder, though, if we're even all from the same...dimension? There are many humans but not all are from your planet, yes?

Not that I know of, but we've been in the throes of quick scientific revolution for decades now.

We have the Expansion--a Dead Universe, bleeding into our own, where life cannot exist. That is the only one I know.

[He shakes his head.] But this does not seem to be that. Even though I am, I suppose, dead.

Then the assumption must be that the ship's makers are from neither of our universes, but chose us from outside.
