I finally see what you all were talking about with the whole waking up on the ship thing.

[Pietro looks tense, but he's dressed, at least. However, the uniform is unfamiliar. He's clearly still inside the ship.]

But can someone tell me why my powers aren't working?!

[His voice climbs a few octaves closer to panic at the end.]

Yeah, but how can we be sure? And how do I tell this other me's friends that hey, they might never see him again, but at least you still get to see his face every day!

We can be sure because unless you broke one of the laws of physics and aren't telling me, there's nothing you did that someone else who was swapped didn't do.

[Yeah, that includes dying.]

And look - this might all be new to you, but the rest of us are getting used to this transdimensional crap. His friends might not be comfortable talking to a stranger with their buddy's face, but they'll be able to grasp what's going on.
