I finally see what you all were talking about with the whole waking up on the ship thing.

[Pietro looks tense, but he's dressed, at least. However, the uniform is unfamiliar. He's clearly still inside the ship.]

But can someone tell me why my powers aren't working?!

[His voice climbs a few octaves closer to panic at the end.]

It's about twenty miles from the ship to Poseidon, which means you should just barely stretch your legs.

[Pepper lifts a coffee mug in a toast, either of greeting or to his speed, and continues mildly that] You've actually turned up twice without any pants. It got to the point where you put a rack of one size fits all robes on board Salvation, in case anyone else got caught out. Very thoughtful. Will you come by Callahan's, or are you going to meet up with Todd and the others?

[Pepper, being nice, opts to let things go and not make arguments about how he and the other version look exactly a like.]

Callahan's is my place, [she confirms, before her expression goes a bit wry at his guess, confirmation enough.] I'm... really sorry, but I don't, Pietro. From what I can tell, Tony, the Asgardians and I are from the same or similar realities, but there's something different about yours and Molly's. Everything I know is what I've learned being on Verdana with you. Or, um, the other you, actually.

[Pietro sighs, though he tries not to look as disappointed as he feels. He was batting 0 for 0 right now, when it came to teammates.]

Yeah, well, I'm getting used to that. [It came out a little snappy, which just made him sound more like his other self.] I think I'll swing by anyway, if you don't mind.

Not at all. I know that you don't have the memories of your, um, counterpart.

[Evil Twin isn't strictly accurate and, given Wanda, might leave him offended as well as confused. That, and the previous take on Pietro hadn't really read as evil to begin with... Pepper chooses her words with care.]

And I know that I don't have off-Verdana memories of you. But in general people have been close enough to their previous selves' personalities, with one major exception, that I think I'd like to get to know you.

I'll take that as a compliment. In my experience, you've been an excellent judge of character.

With one major exception. But I'm willing to overlook that.
