[Kara sends the directions via text. The apartment she's scoping out is a floor up and pretty structurally sound. But she's picked it for the view. The living room area looks out at the Alien ship.

She limps down to the ground floor and piles some debris into a makeshift arrow to indicate where she is. Shepard may notice the big weird painted mural on a concrete wall nearby too. It's what Kara painted when she was hopped up on fog-juice.]

[Action]

[Yep, this is definitely the place. She's heading up the stairs now, keeping an eye out for the apartment number in question. Once she finds it, she's knocking twice on the door. (Knocking is strange for her--the doors in Citadel Space tend to open with a palm-pad, so there's really no need to knock on anything.)]

It's me.

[Kara opened the door, stepping back to allow Shepard to enter. The place needed a lot of work, but there were at least three rooms that could serve as bedrooms. And there was a balcony. No power or running water, of course, but that was to be expected. Generators were few and far between.]

Come on in. It's not exactly homey yet, but I'm thinking it'll be defensible.

[Any light they used wouldn't be seen from the Dome side. But...there was at least one apartment on the northern side with a broken wall that could serve as a sentry position. It was one of the reasons she'd chosen the building in the first place.]

[She doesn't answer at first, looking around in appraisal. Not bad, not bad.

Then Shepard shoots a casual glance back to Kara.]

You know the authorities know exactly where you are, right?

[She sent the directions over the network, even private. So far, the general pod-people population has decided that can't be trusted.]

[She shrugs, not all that concerned.]

They knew exactly where we were at the Flophouse. Made me eat dirt when they swung by last time. There's a basement if we have to take cover. But it's got a good view of Big Bertha. Close enough I could snipe from here if I had to. Also? Other side of the building's pretty much facing the Dome.

[...okay, that stops her for a second.] Big Bertha?

It's what I call the alien ship. I just got tired of calling it 'the alien ship' all the time. Ships should have names.

That's fair enough.

[As someone with a ship of her own (before she got here, anyway), Shepard can appreciate that. Back on topic, though:]

I just figured that when we did find new places to migrate, we wouldn't be so quick to advertise them.

You getting all protective now?

[She flashes Shepard an amused and maybe even affectionate grin.]

They knew where we were all along. The Flop isn't any safer. This way? At least I can see them coming.

[The corner of Shepard's mouth twitches in suppressed amusement of her own.] You gave me an armory. It's the least I can do. [Part of an armory, anyway, but that's not the point.]

Alright, alright, I'll leave your bachelor pad alone. I was actually here to ask about the meeting.

[A pause, and she's stepping back to settle leaning slightly against a counter/wall/idek something.] I know a lot of people didn't quite speak their full minds, with that many people they didn't know for sure that they could trust.

So I wanted to ask if you had any thoughts that you didn't bring up at the time. Ideas, agreements, objections, people aside from the Charleses that you're not sure we can trust.
