The AI are, yes. They have the same rights as any other soldiers.

[Except the oath they swear includes the stipulation to be a part of the ship, if they are in a state of endangering the Commonwealth they must be reset.]

They are on board almost all Commonwealth ships.

Of course, they're our ships. And they can have an opinion on their well being just as well as we can on our own.

[In that way, his society's much more advanced than hers. After the geth-quarian war, AI have been side-eyed at best and outlawed at worst. Which brings her to ask:]

Has there ever been a case where the AI revolted?

Not as a collective, no.

[Though he doesn't really know how it is by Dylan's time. Just that the biggest revolt that will occur won't be because of the AIs.]

Not as a collective, but in smaller groups? Like people would.

More like as individuals suffering from program degradation. At that point, they're usually rebooted to get rid of whatever faulty programming is damaging them.

So they're too easily controlled to pose much of a threat, then.

No more easily controlled than any other person. They take the oath to serve the same as us. They can live as androids or as ships. If we break our oath, we are all dismissed.

Assuming 'dismissed' means killed for humans, too?

It can be. It depends on the level of crime against the Commonwealth.
