A couple of questions.

How good are the medical facilities at the hospital?

Who here can hold their breath a damn long time and help me have a look around the ship? [It's for more medical supplies]

[Narvin's used to working with a team, or at least a partner. It's difficult being so completely on his own with no one to report to, or give orders to, or even just confer with.

He goes to one of the computer consoles and pulls up the ship's layout.]

If all else fails, I can try to activate one of the empty pods and put him in stasis. It's not a permanent solution, but it might keep him alive until one can be found.

That's a good option.

[And one that he will very much consider if the kid gets near death.] Hopefully we can get one of those things workin'.

I like having a backup plan.

[And he examines the layout and ponders where a medical station might be within this massive ship. Someplace easily accessible to the crew. Maybe near crew quarters or the central command station.]

Better than being caught with your pants around your ankles.

[He crosses his arms and waits for Narvin to go through his search.]

[Narvin fingers sputter on the screen at the...unusual idiom. Clears his throat.]

Quite.

[Then he finishes his search and points to a few spots on the map.]

I think these are the possible locations that are also most easily accessible for starting our search. If we find nothing there then we can start planning for more risky endeavours deeper in the ship.

I can only hold my breath for about ten minutes. Then we'll have to go back. [And he won't be talking much.]

Are you armed? Not that I expect to find anything hostile, but it is a mysterious alien space ship, and there are some species who would find airless darkness quite habitable.

[He reaches into the pockets he's added to his current coat, pulling out a blaster on one side, and a regular handgun he pilfered on the other.]

Yup.

[There wouldn't be a moment when he wasn't.]

Don't want to use the blaster unless I have to. [In case he needs to use the battery in it to power some of the medical equipment.]

Good. I'll stay close to you. [He's not embarrassed about getting protection from another. And he doesn't want to admit yet that he has a weapon.]

[That gets a little bit of a strange look, just because nothing seems to have nested in the ship so far despite it being gaping open (at least that he can tell), but a lot of people do opt to stay in Kay's protection.]
