This is Gaheris Rhade and I've returned from a brief scouting expedition- [and he adds because Dylan had announced his alone-time.] -after unexpected delay. [Unexpected delays being a lot on his mind and curiosity about anything remotely dangerous.] Does anyone know anything about the body of water that used to be where the Wasteland now is?

I can't determine much. [Other than there was a dome in the middle of it. A lit dome. And he highly suspects it's the cause of that body of water being gone.]

Perhaps this is a very typical inquiry, but what have I missed?


*OOC: I need a way to break off the end of a boneblade for Loki's plot and am open to ideas, accidental and purposeful for ingredients.

[He does feel a little bad for her concern. Not so much what he was doing in risking himself.] I wasn't getting myself killed, nor was I planning any confrontations. I simply had a lot on my mind, went scouting, and took longer than I intended to.

I found out how I will die. Or possibly how I was supposed to die. [He doesn't want to admit that it spooked him, though. Or what about it made him uncomfortable.]

[That makes her pause for a while. But finally the questions burst forth from her. She can't help but want to know.]

How did you find out? Hunt? He told you? Frak. I'm sorry.

[And she is. Kara has a fear of the future herself. Mostly because others tell her she gets glimpses of it. She's so deep in denial about that it makes her defensive at the drop of the hat. She has the feeling that she's already dreamed of her own death, but frak if she'll admit it to anyone.]

He didn't want to tell me, but I needed to know. [And he's not angry about it. He's not happy about it, but he understands it. Which is... mostly why he needed the alone time.] I informed him that I would be going scouting [by leaving a note, Rhade, good call] but didn't specify the amount of time I would be gone.

[But, he does feel bad for making her worry.] I apologize for not informing you. I doubt I would have been very good company.

Just don't do it again. Otherwise I'll have to haul you back by the scruff of your neck myself. Look, I get it. The need to be alone to sort through stuff. But you're not as alone as you think.

It looks like it was enormous at one point. I got a good look of it before I had this collar put on from the sky. It was probably an enormous lake.

I was trying to be alone.

[He supposes he should explain, at least a little.]

Whatever happens to me in the future, I'm walking into it knowingly, and I have no animosity for the people responsible as they were just defending themselves. We Nietzscheans at least have the benefit of not bearing anyone ill will for doing things that they must do.

But we also don't destroy habitable planets- I suspect that's what the domes will eventually do to this one.

With the number of large skeletons and fishing vessels, I suspect a thriving one.

Did you get a good look at the Dome in the middle? From a distance, it still seemed to be thriving. Undoubtedly at the expense of the surrounding area. [And he finds that repulsive.]

I did. I managed to sense more people in there than I can count. Billions of people, probably. I wouldn't be surprised if they dammed the water so it's all under the dome.

It's a contemptible thing to do to an ecosystem. [He's a little worried about it happening to the settlement here.]

It's a wonder how they're all still alive.

They can't be very durable. They hide from everything.
