To all of us stranded here - my name is Colonel Telford of the US Air Force. I'd like to help further our attempts to get ourselves organized.

I understand that we have some exploration parties established and out there looking for answers by now. However, I feel like we should have some sort of ground base to bundle our efforts as well. I'd also like to take inventory and know where we stand in terms of provisions, medical supplies and weapons at this point.

I wasn't in the best condition when I came to and I could imagine I won't be the only one - are there any doctors around who could establish an infirmary and tend to the injured? Do we have people with scientific background who could start working on the ship and those pods?

Finally, are there people with combat experience among us who would be willing to establish a watch and securing of the perimeter with me?

I'd say our first priority is securing the immediate area around the ship until we hear back from the exploration teams. I already heard some disconcerting news about air raids and I don't just wanna sit by and wait for that to happen if there's still people trapped inside those pods.

[He doesn't like the sound of air raids. They are innocents, doing nothing but try to survive. Why would they be attacked?]

Those pods must be protected. Each of them, like us, is a life that did not ask to be brought here.

It's only been us humans. We haven't encountered any other forms of sentient organic life. And we've got faster than light travel.

Also, the possibility of evacuation. Caches of food or weapons for your kind, safe from the ship.

[She echoes:] Guard duty. [Shepard almost sounds amused. It's been a hell of a long time since she's been low enough on the food chain that guard duty was actually on the table.]

And my question is, why are the best-trained soldiers of the lot stuck sitting on their hands at home base? [A slight headshake.] If there's anything dangerous out there, they're going to up and get themselves killed. You know that. [He's military, so he's probably seen plenty of exactly what she's referring to.]
