[Peter's grabbing his actual communicator after trying to call Gwen at least six times and discovering that nope, his smart phone doesn't have a connection down here. In this. Wherever he is.

There's a long moment where he wonders if he's been snagged by someone - not the cops, definitely not the cops, but maybe Dr. Connors or Oscorp or someone, when he'd been walking through the sewer-

He clicks on the audio, holding it like a phone as he starts moving away from the pod, starting to explore a little more, still in the costume.]

Gwen? Are you-

[The audio cuts abruptly for several minutes, because things are starting to fall into place and either this is a really, really weird dream, or he got yanked out of the sewers of New York City by aliens. And now he's stuck on some ship in a strange... somewhere. He can't feel the ship moving, really, there's no hum under his feet from an active engine or something.

The next part is a video feed, and Peter's changed out of the costume by now. He might not be great at keeping the mask on sometimes, but he figures it's better to try and keep the secret for now. He looks a little roughed up. There's scrapes and bruises on his face - over his left eyebrow, his jaw, his cheek, the bridge of his nose - and there's sort of a resigned-but-desperate edge to the way he addresses the camera, because seriously, he really can't be here right now.]

So, uh, I have no idea what's going on, but I really need to get home, like, now. So if someone could point me in the direction of whoever brought me here, I'd really, really appreciate it.

[Peter has to switch off the feed for a moment to compose himself, because that's kicking him in the chest and he doesn't really want to start losing it in front of a stranger. Even if the stranger was a robot.

He sinks down against the wall of the ship for a moment and just... lets that all sink in. Everyone he knew could have been dead for decades, and he had no way of knowing about it. What would happen with Dr. Connors and the attack he was planning on New York? And Gwen? And oh god, Aunt May had already lost Uncle Ben, and she'd been worried and he'd never told her, and what would she have thought when he just never came home?

After a few minutes, the feed clicks back on, only this time he's changed it to voice, because he can't handle talking face to face with someone right now. Maybe can't even handle talking not face to face with anyone.]

How is that possible? If you're already dead? [His voice was quieter and a little choked, like either he'd been crying or just holding back tears, but he still wants to know, because if he's stuck here... probably better to get all the info he can.]

Ah, good! Humor! An excellent way to alleviate the stress of a tense situation.

I certainly Hope it will also help pass the time that you seem so eager to expend.

Who are you?

Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you! I am Saint Walker.

[His tone hasn't changed one bit the entire time, always so light and lyrical.]

And may I ask your name?

[Wing notices the format change, and clicks his down as well. The other doesn't want to see him, either.]

That I don't know. But I remember dying. And waking up here, my injuries were repaired.

[He cycles a vent of air.]

I am sorry to have distressed you. It is possible I am wrong. Since we all come from different worlds, it's possible that they can bend time as well as space, those who brought us here.

Believe it or not, I'm about as close to 'fresh meat' as you are. I haven't exactly had a chance to sit down for a one-on-one with the locals.

[There's almost a moment of hesitation, because whoever had brought them here had brought him in in his suit, which must meant they knew the whole secret identity thing, but. He still felt weird just telling people, after keeping it quiet for this long.]

Peter. Peter Parker.

It's fine, it's not- [His voice sticks a little, he's not great at comforting other people when he's struggling with something too, but.]

It's not your fault. I guess I'm just gonna have to hope you're right.

Oh. Are you still on the ship?

[Wing would argue he doesn't need comfort. This is his future, the only one he has. In a way it's better than losing something beautiful.]

I think we all are.

But until then, we have many mysteries to solve.

And those can wait. Have you eaten?

Not for a few hours now. That little shop of stasis-pod horrors was a little too much for me to handle first thing in the morning.

Hmm! That is an interesting name, actually - I initially assumed you were from Earth, but Peter-peter Parker just does not sound like what I am used to.

[...what? Is...is that not right?]

I do realize you are upset, Brother Parker, but I ask that you trust me - we will do everything possible to return you home as soon as we can.

Uh- [Good question. Lunch in the cafeteria? That already seemed like a long time ago.] Not since I got here, no.

No, it's just- [Mentally facepalming a little bit here.] Peter Parker. Not-

[He drops it with a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair.] Okay. Is there anything else I should know?

[Probably not the best idea to talk like that - he'll think your name is Peter-peter Parker Not.]

Be on your guard for now - there has been a great deal of fighting lately, and many buildings within the city are badly damaged.

If you're certain. [He looks sceptical, but pushing the matter would be a tad hypocritical at the moment.]

...It was - [His glance flickers, voice lowering.] it was quite brutal, all told. [He's been trying not to think too hard on it, really, to focus on the aftermath.] The hospital is still standing, at least, but we lost at least eighty people. Far more than that were injured.

[...A wry smile.] As you can see.

[It might sound naive, but Wing, well, he is. But it seems to him that bad news seems just slightly less overwhelming when one has some small comforts such as food, or rest. ]

I could take you to the Old City? There are rations aboard the ship but...fresh food is better for your kind, I've been told.

Yeah, I'm- [He pauses for a moment to glance around a little bit, trying to orient himself.] I'm on my way out.

Anything I should know about what's waiting for me outside?

[Eighty people dead, more injured.

Hey Parker, remember when the biggest problem in your life was trying to avoid pissing off Flash and getting your homework done on time?]

And it was because we're here. Even though none - or at least most of us, I guess - want to be here.

[Peter hesitates for a moment, wondering how this could blow up in his face - and there seems like there's a lot of ways it could - before nodding and then realizing oh wait. He can't see him, right.]

Sure. Where should I meet you?

[Someday they'll figure it out. :c]

Why are they attacking us if we don't even want to be here? Wouldn't it make more sense to, you know, figure out a way to get us home?

[A slight, grim nod.] Our presence is a catalyst, yes.

I imagine the situation would be dire regardless, however. [His lips curl in a slight scowl.] The Authorities don't seem to need very much excuse for barbarity.

[They sound like a lot of fun. Peter's expression is somewhere between stony and resigned, and maybe a little "I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this without going completely insane".]

Who are they?

[His expression softens again, before he raises his good arm to push a hand through his hair. It could probably use another wash.] They come from the domed city - some manner of militia, I believe.

One might think they'd be content to stay there, and let the rest of this world live in peace. [But are they ever? The jaded weariness is clear in his expression.]

'They' who brought us here are not necessarily 'they' who attack us, and, if truly different, the intentions of the two are in strong contradiction.

The 'Authorities', the ones who led a vicious attack on the people here, do not wish to seek peace. It is not their way.

[The creature holding the communicator moves for a moment; he seems to be sitting down to rest, and the scene across the video feed changes slightly - one might even notice mountain peaks in the distance.]

No, they seek to control, and that which cannot be easily controlled, they eliminate. In order to maintain their chokehold, they cannot loosen their grip by simply sending us away, or they likely feel it risks showing weakness.

They will not show us mercy, Brother. They target the sick and the wounded, the poor and the defenseless.
