[Video] Early Saturday
[The screen flickers on to show an annoyed, ruffled, white-haired young man, clearly standing right outside the spaceship. The image is in focus and right-side up, even. Somebody knew what a video phone was. He brushes some hair back into place with quick fingers before speaking, his voice irritated instead of scared or worried.]
What the hell, man? Think you coulda warned me, huh?
[He scowls at the screen - clearly, a reply that's not instantaneous isn't quick enough]
Hellooo, Magneto? Cut the mysterious crap and get with the program! This another one of your tests? What more do I need to prove, huh?

[because, really. what're the odds that he guesses it's a multi-dimensional nexus at work?]
no subject
Yeah? Well, if you know so much more than I do, perhaps you can enlighten me. Not that I asked you to butt in.
[Good thing he has no idea who he's talking to. Or maybe that's a bad thing.]
no subject
I could offer you all the information you need, but I'm afraid you forgot the magic word.
no subject
[He looks unimpressed and skeptical. Who was this guy, that he had all the answers? Especially if this was some plan of Magneto's, as Pietro still believes.]
no subject
[this may partly be why he delegates so much. if he didn't send others to deal with the younger mutants, he'd never get anything done.]
This would be the second time I've found myself in a situation like this. For your information, of course.
no subject
[Pietro is talking rapidly. There's something about this guy he's not sure he likes]
no subject
[and hey, look. he even manages to sober up a little before offering over the details. this part is actual serious enough to warrant it.]
Firstly, your "Magneto" friend isn't responsible for this. Quite who is, we aren't certain of. All that matters is that we're all trapped, along with other captives who have been brought here from various different times and realities.
For now, you would do well to keep your head down. There's a militant group policing the area, capable of subduing even the most...advanced of beings here.
no subject
You mean mutants.
[Might as well be blunt about it. Hey, as far as Pietro knows, they're the most 'advanced' beings out there.]
What do you mean, realities? Sounds kinda out there to me.
[Military, too. It might be Trask and his goons. Or even SHIELD.]
no subject
[a straightforward agreement, but one with a certain amount of curiosity involved. in that other city, the only people who used the term mutants were ones themselves. interesting.]
There are various different worlds out there that exist on different planes of existence. For example, there are three versions of my closest friend here, none of which are actually him. They've each experienced different lives, with only the most basic of details shared between them. But they are still all inheritantly the same person.
Re: Video
Yeeeah.
[Skeptical? Oh yeah]
See, that sounds pretty... oh, I dunno, crazy? You got any proof about all this? Maybe it's all in your head.
[Because that's way too freaky to be true. He doesn't want to think about running into alternate-Magneto. Or Wanda.]
no subject
[teenagers. can't someone else deal with them?]
Regardless, your safety here cannot be guaranteed. So whether or not you believe me, I would prefer to ensure that my fellow mutants here are capable of protecting themselves from the threats this world holds.
no subject
Alright, fine. Let's pretend I believe you.
[Because everyone else seems to be on board the crazy train, too]
You're a mutant too, huh? Well, I do know how to take care of myself, thankyouverymuch!
no subject
And if they manage to subdue your abilities, what then? You'll be a sitting duck.
no subject
Ah, ah, ah! They'd have to catch me, first. And noooo way is that gonna happen.
[Subdue? That sounds... ominous.]
Why do you care, anyway? Just because I'm a mutant, too?
[Everyone he knows would throw him to the wolves if it meant furthering their own agenda.]
no subject
he seems entirely unimpressed by his reply at first. there are always ways of capturing those with powers, within cities like these and back home. and from the sounds of it, this planet is better equipped that bete noire ever was.]
It's my duty to watch over the mutants here, whether they want it or not.
[and yes, it really is that simple, as far as he's concerned.]
no subject
no subject
[nope. still leaving that to the others.]
If something does happen though, know that you aren't alone here, despite your feelings on the subject.
no subject
Yeah, yeah. Like I'm going to need you. Just stay outta my way, all right? You're underestimating me.
no subject
Erik Lehnsherr. When you're ready to admit that it's better to work in a team here, contact me.
no subject
You you you... you're who, now?
[His voice even squeaks a little in surprise]
no subject
Erik. Lehnsherr.
Not the version you may have heard about being here previously.
no subject
No. No, you can't be him. That's... that's impossible.
[Magneto didn't play this kind of game, for one. This man really has no idea who Pietro is.]
no subject
[but that reaction? well, it'd be expected if pietro was a human from their world. but this?]
I take it you're familiar with another version of myself.
no subject
[His voice rises as he gets more frazzled, and the communication immediately cuts off at the end. Not to confuse Erik any more or anything]
