[For a guy who just got kidnapped by aliens, Bruce is looking remarkably calm. He's quiet, too, and doesn't exactly carry himself with any sort of confidence. More to himself than to anyone else;]

As if the invasion wasn't enough. Though somehow, I think these guys are different. I just hope they're not Loki's allies, too.

[Then he pauses, glancing around the ship, which he's still standing in.] I'm going to see what I can figure out about this technology....maybe I can get things working again. If anyone I know is out there, please let me know you're all right.

For anyone else who might be listening...can you tell me anything about this place? Where is it, and who's in charge? I'd like to speak to them. At least, if they can understand English. If not, I guess I'll have to pick up another language.

Nuclear physics and biochemistry, with some field experience in the medical area, too. [He doesn't say this in a bragging way at all; he's really very humble about it.]

I suppose I'll see for myself eventually. [And then he'll do something about it, but he's not telling her that.]

[Bruce is quietly amused, yes.] Well, I've heard stranger names.

[Well, that's somewhat awkward.] I can't say the same, but from what I hear, time is a bit strange here. So maybe I haven't met you yet.

Understandable. [he pauses] If you don't mind me asking...where are you from, exactly?

That is something many of us seem to have in common. And any assistance you could give would be greatly appreciated, both there and elsewhere. I am afraid you have awoken into difficult times.

Still, it is a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Banner. My name is Dr. Liara T'Soni. May I ask what your field of study is?

[Bruce frowns at the state of said teenager's face.]

I am, yes. [pause] ...Are you all right?

[Yeah that doesn't escape Bruce's notice at all, and he's really not surprised. He is pleased, though, to hear that Tony is around, too.]

No, it really doesn't. Where are you all living, exactly? I haven't been outside the ship.

...And you know, if you ever want help catching up with said language, I wouldn't mind teaching you. [He feels a bit awkward offering that, because he's not sure Steve would really care or be interested. But he's hopeful that he might be.]

I was. [after thinking for a moment] Are any of us from the same point in time around here? I've heard a few mentions of time discrepancies. [Which he's still sort of trying to process, because lol TIME TRAVEL PHYSICS. But he'll work that out later.]

And I'll be there as soon as I can, then.

Yeah, I'm- fine. [Just, you know, annoyed about being stuck here and everything.]

It's... complicated. [She reiterates this with a small smile.] I'm really getting tired of having no good answers, so if you geniuses want to come up with some for me, I'd appreciate it.

Tony's here -- he's been hard to catch up with recently, which doesn't surprise me given all the material he has to work with. Captain Rogers as well, and Jane Foster, the astrophysicist and Thor's, um, companion.

[Somehow the asgardian and 'girlfriend' just sound weird stuck beside each other.]

No sign of Thor himself -- I guess if he was here, we'd be closer to having a way out. On the up side, no sign of Loki either, at least not since I've arrived.

Dinosaurs!! Yes, they seem to be among the local fauna. Cmdr. Shepard keeps one as a pet. It would be cooler if they didn't cause so much trouble but at the same time it's like I'm living in a Magic School Bus episode...

[Bruce would like to avoid thinking about things like companions or girlfriends in general, please.]

I'm working on that one already. And I'm glad to have some familiar faces, at least. The next time you see Tony, would you please let him know I'm here? I'd like to help him, if I can.

[And Tony is the one he felt closest to, but he can't say that.]

[thoughtfully] Well, that explains a few things. If you don't mind me asking...were you engineered by someone?

I'm living near the hospital, around the same area as Ms. Potts actually. You're welcome anytime. [he'd explicitly offer a permanent place of residence, but he knows how that would probably be received]

I think that'd be swell. I can't guarantee that I'd understand everything, but it would be nice to follow along. How would you even start teaching something like that?

Absolutely. He's going to be thrilled that you're here. [Pepper delivers this prediction with a fond little smile directed at the absent Stark. A Tony with a science bro is a good thing for all involved.]

Although if you want to contact him directly, these communicators can do filtered calls or posts to others on the network. Have you gotten accomodations settled yet?

[Well, he'll just add this to his own six impossible things before breakfast list and roll with it. What else can he do?]

I wonder if they were brought here like we were or they're native to this planet. [This is pretty cool from a scientific perspective, okay.]

[wryly] Difficult times aren't really anything new to me, either.

Mostly nuclear physics and biochemistry. I worked in Calcutta for awhile as a physician, too, though I don't actually have a medical degree. What about you?

[Bruce looks a little embarrassed at that first part.]

Thanks, that's good to know. And no, I haven't. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks, I'll definitely drop by sometime. [Steve guessed right, Bruce would much rather live by himself. For their sake.]

[he chuckles] The same way I'd teach any student. I used to be a professor, you know.

Just curious. I love science, so if you need a hand or anything... [I love science still sounds like an incredibly lame excuse for being curious, but oh well.]

And, uh, be prepared to not get a lot of answers about like, anything.

Well, there's a housing area called the 'Flop' where a lot of new arrivals stay until they figure out other accomodations. It's communal and a little tight-packed, so, um, it might not be exactly what you're looking for.

[HULK SMASH in the middle of a crowded dorm is not likely to endear the locals to the ship arrivals any, after all.]

Other than that, there are a lot of empty apartments that can be reclaimed -- Jane and I, and ostensibly Tony, are sharing one. I'm not sure where Captain Rogers is staying. They're private and can be as close or as far from the centres of activity as you like, but it does mean having to do some scrounging for furnishings, and potentially trading for things like a generator if you want power.

[a bit awkwardly] I'd rather not have to share with anyone, if I can avoid it.

Things like nice furnishings and power aren't particularly important to me. I've lived without them before.
