[For a guy who just got kidnapped by aliens, Bruce is looking remarkably calm. He's quiet, too, and doesn't exactly carry himself with any sort of confidence. More to himself than to anyone else;]

As if the invasion wasn't enough. Though somehow, I think these guys are different. I just hope they're not Loki's allies, too.

[Then he pauses, glancing around the ship, which he's still standing in.] I'm going to see what I can figure out about this technology....maybe I can get things working again. If anyone I know is out there, please let me know you're all right.

For anyone else who might be listening...can you tell me anything about this place? Where is it, and who's in charge? I'd like to speak to them. At least, if they can understand English. If not, I guess I'll have to pick up another language.

Nuclear physics and biochemistry, with some field experience in the medical area, too. [He doesn't say this in a bragging way at all; he's really very humble about it.]

I suppose I'll see for myself eventually. [And then he'll do something about it, but he's not telling her that.]

[She leans forward slightly as her smile returns.] I studied biophysics, there was a fair bit of overlap. ...And we could certainly use more help at the hospital.

[Have a smile, Jocelyn.] I'll definitely be offering my services there as much as I can. Do you work there as well?

I do, though my expertise lies more in the mind than the body.

How so, specifically? "The mind" could mean a lot of things.

Two of my other doctorates are in psychology and psychiatry. [After a moment, she smiles wryly.] That...has little bearing on what I'm doing currently, however.

[She's so accustomed to hiding, but it makes little difference here, and she's played her hand enough that it doesn't truly matter.]

I can influence minds. It comes in useful, in the absence of sedatives and pain medication.

[he's wary, now] When you say you can influence minds...do you mean to imply that you have psychic abilities?

I do, yes. Since I was a small child.

[Bruce is impressed, but also nervous.] If you can control it, please don't enter my mind. You won't like what you find there.

[Her smile is a sad, weary thing.]

Dr. Banner, I have found some of the worst humanity has to offer.

[The bleak smile shifts into something more reassuring.] But I do not, generally speaking, enter minds without permission. You needn't worry.

[Even after locking the conversation, he's still a bit hesitant about confessing this, but it seems necessary.]

I'm a little worse than what humanity has to offer.

[She looks distinctly sceptical.]

You're quite the actor, then.

[wryly] It's...complicated. Just trust me on this. You don't want to poke around in my head, regardless of the circumstances.

Even if it would save your life?

[A knowing arch of her eyebrows.]

Others' lives?

[tiptoeing]

[There's a pause.] If somone else's life is in danger, that's the exception to the rule. Though if that's the case, I'm not sure you could influence my mind at that point.

[abetterway]

I haven't come across that mind yet. Can I ask what makes yours so different? [She sounds more intrigued than doubtful, as well as concerned - she noticed that dismissal of his own life.]

[tiptoeing]

...I'm not certain how secure private conversations are on this network. Can I explain in person, sometime?

[abetterway]

Of course.

We'll probably see each other at the hospital - perhaps we could take a moment then?

[tiptoeing]

We could, yes. It's not really something I want anyone else to know about, unless they need to know.
