What kind of ship is this supposed to be? This looks sci-fi even by Beast's standards. Someone going to clue me in on what's going on?

Seriously. I have things I need to be doing and I'm not sticking around to make nice with whatever asshole shoved me in that tiny crate. I'm not laughing. Not even a little.

Magneto? Mystique? Are you on this channel? I could really use some directions right about now.

Come on. Azazeal? Someone answer. This place is giving me the creeps.

[Those names. Those names! Todd fumbles for the video. He only gets the audio. Oh, well. His voice is eager and edgy and not necessarily happy-- but not necessarily un-happy, either. Obviously, this is a fellow mutant. But not one who's voice he knows, either....]

Yo yo, hold up a sec, you know Magneto and Mystique?

No, I just randomly pulled those names out of my head and decided to say them.

You don't sound familiar. Are you one of the new ones?

[And he sounds kind of proud of that, himself. He does love being what he is, even if it gets him in trouble and means he doesn't get to hang with the "cool crowd". Who needs 'em, anyway!]

I don't know you, neither, but that don't really mean nothin'. Hold on, okay? I'm gonna come find you. There's, like, spies watchin' what's posted on these phones an' stuff.

[oh, alex. he'd be so glad to see you if it wasn't for one small thing.]

You're calling for Mystique and Azazel?

Magneto. Hey. What are we doing here? Why did I wake up in a metal coffin? I know you are a fan of the material but I'm really not okay with coffin beds.

I was hoping Azazel would get me out of here, but if this is our new base or something, someone could have woken me up first, for the move here.

All right. Just hurry it up. I'm not sticking around in this creepy ship for longer than necessary.

[He isn't even phased by the name. They all had different names with Magneto. Their 'real' names. He didn't care either way but he used them when he knew them.]

I'm Havok. If you're going to be part of the Brotherhood, it's a name you should learn.

[Magneto again. Her expression is both curious and concerned as she studies him.]

I'm afraid we haven't discovered much about the ship, beyond "presumably extraterrestrial". ...Relatively speaking, considering we aren't on Earth any longer.

You're joking, right?

How can we not be on Earth?

The ship could, apparently, fly through space - along with time, and even reality itself.

[Her smile is wry.] It sounds utterly absurd, I know.

It more than sounds it. Reality? What kind of crazy is in the water here?

Great. I've been abducted by sci-fi geeks.

[Her eyebrows arch.] You're the one calling himself Havok. [What do you mean, she's not following your conversations.]

For the record, I did not come up with that. I just kept it. And-

[Somebody's a little behind the times, as far as Todd knows. He was the first teenager working for Magneto and Mystique, thank you very much. He sounds a little offended, there.]

Whatever. I'll be there in a few.

[And he is. Jumping along rooftops and then bounding across empty streets at the edge of the Old City, up until he reaches the ship. He pokes his head inside.]

Yo. Havok. You still here?

The network is public. You'll want to keep that in mind, because we're not the only ones watching it.

You can filter to specific people, but it's uncertain how secure it is.

So. I have a 'communicator' out of a science fiction novel, I woke up in a metal pod, and now there are spies watching what I say? Yeah. No.

This isn't some freaky science fiction nerd's nightmarish wet dream at all. It is definitely reality.

And you still didn't answer my question. Or was that the 'CIA spies are out to get us' code for why don't you go meet some random stranger who knows your name, on some metal space ship you've never seen before.

[Havok's still in his new suit from the training he had thought he was in the middle of. Now he was grateful he had made it black, after all. It made keeping to the shadows in a strange place easier.]

Over here, Toad.

[He gave the odd stature of the other mutant a furrowed glance before shaking his head. Okay. So his temporary partner in abduction was the hunchback of freaky eyes. Whatever. He had worked with stranger mutants.]

What are we doing here, anyhow? Where's Magneto?

I could know far more about you than I do, Havok, but I'm refraining out of tact.

And I am not, precisely, a random stranger.

[Slowly, she raises her fingers to her temple.]

My name is Jocelyn Xavier.

[And this guy looks kind of like... Scott Summers' little brother. Oh geez. That Havok? Todd winces. He's in street clothes, even if he does actually have his costume here. Street clothes are more comfortable.]

No clue, bro. Ain't seen a bit of him, or Mystique. S'just me and Quicksilver and some gal who's related to Professor Xavier, only like, from another universe or somethin'.

[There's an instant thread of something similar to a mental recoil at the unfamiliar voice in his head. He had never liked it when Charles did it, and he really wasn't a fan of a strang-

His thought process got sidetracked along the way, Alex staring at the communicator with something bordering between disbelief and confusion. Xavier? No, he definitely heard that right. She said - thought- whatever- Xavier at him.

It should have sent his mind spinning immediately to a conclusion that Xavier had finally given in and was using Emma's style of mental manipulation to make him think all of this was real. But he didn't think Xavier would do something like that. Not to him. And even if he would, surely it would never be something this elaborate and confusing.]

Okay. I'm uh.. I'm listening, I guess.

[Jocelyn smiles, pulling back mentally.]

Thank you. I'm sorry for that, but I didn't think you'd believe me, otherwise.

I suppose the Xavier you know is named Charles? He's here as well, but he may not be quite the same man you know. [Two of him, in fact, but she'll work up to that one.]

[More people from other universes. Charles shrugged off the curiosity and the slight distress at knowing that in at least one universe, Alex had also left with Erik. That had been their choice. He would not have stopped any of them if they had wanted to go. Nevertheless it hurt his selfish pride.]

Alex. If you will calm down a moment, I believe I can explain some of what is going on. Preferably not over these devices.

[He had finally begun to learn his lesson there.]

[there's that name again. he doesn't question it this time though. not after his conversation with quicksilver. but having havok use it feels...strange. he didn't take on another name yet for a reason.]

Firstly, I'm not the one responsible for this. And secondly, Azazel isn't here.

[luckily. if he were, the other mutant would be at the brunt of his anger, given his role in the murder attempt on charles. there's a pause before he continues, half tempted to just lie a little. havok had been quick to rise through the ranks, back home. so having him on his side here would be a benefit. but havok is also still one of them. he's a mutant. so he's the last person he's going to start lying to.]

This world exists in a separate reality to our own. As such, I'm not the man you think I am. Not entirely.

[Alex almost asks about Quicksilver until Toad mentions the other Xavier.]

What do you know about her? Anything? I spoke to her a while ago and she was talking some pretty crazy things

[Coming from anyone else, Alex would have fought that. Shrugged it off or assumed they had either lost it or spent too much time around people like Beast. But from Magneto? He had a hard time fighting the urge to believe it. As far as he knew, Magneto had never lied to him. Even about things he knew would make Alex want to step back from the Brotherhood.]

Great...

[He ran a hand through his hair with a frown.]]

So that Xavier woman wasn't lying.

[This wasn't good. Realities and space travel and time? How could all that be real? Well.. if mutants could be, he guessed it was not quite as farfetched as he wanted to believe it was.]

How do we get back?

[It was so easy to just fall into that. We. As if this really was the Magneto who had taught him how to control his powers. How to control his anger in a way that was more productive than just bottling it up until the time bomb exploded. To let it loose in training or against their enemies.]

Yeah. That's him.

[Not that Alex wanted to see him. He still had a lot of guilt hanging around from after they found out he'd been paralyzed when they left him on that beach. Mystique had locked herself in her room for a week. Alex had buried himself in training and tried to remind himself that when the war was over, the other mutants would realize that this was what had to be done.

There were other options, there always were. But this one was the one that needed to be taken. By people like Magneto and himself, people who could take the actions necessary to make sure that mutants were free, and stayed that way.]

What about Magneto? Is he here?
