Behind her a large dog pops up to nuzzle at her, making her nearly fall and drop the communicator as she tries to shove it off a bit. Just enough so that she doesn't fall before she's reaching out to hug the big ball of fur. ] I'm leaning towards nuclear apocalypse in Bete Noire that somehow The Dog survived right now.

[what's that coming over the hill? is it a mutant? is it a mutaaant? yes, there he finally is, hours after she first arrived. things came up, alright. they still haven't been dealt with, but hope's comment was enough to have him ignore his own issues to focus on hers.

she always has been more important, and it has nothing to do with her being the so-called mutant messiah.

the sight of her and the dog has him smiling a little now that they're finally right there and in person. but he doesn't say a word yet. instead he just crosses over to join them, dropping a hand to the dog's head to give him a scratch behind the ears, and taking a seat beside hope.]

[ She caused the things to come up okay! Honestly she had been in BN so long she kind of forgot about home sometimes. She forgot to really tell him about any of that sort of stuff. She was kinda more preoccupied with helping him at the time anyway.

Hope knows he's here, though, the second The Dog takes off for him. He may be loyal to Hope, but he's loyal to Erik too. He knows him and missed him and is glad for the attention too.

Hope's knees are pulled up to her chest as he sits down. ]

[the dog gets the attention he wants, at first. it's a distraction, and one he's all too willing to take. he'd already spent the entire journey over trying to work out what to say, and he's still left with no idea of where to even start.
