Hello. For those I haven't met, I'm Dr. Jocelyn Xavier, and I've something of an offer.
Before I arrived here, I worked with traumatised people – those who experienced war, torture, abduction, abuse. I helped them come to terms with their pain and work through it.
[She leans forward slightly, speaking intently.]
There is no shame in needing help. Goodness knows I've needed it myself.
[As she settles back...]
I thought there may be others among us who did as well, so I thought I would offer. I've doctorates in psychology and psychiatry, and several years of practical experience.
[The slightest hesitation, ingrained and instinctive.]
In the interest of full disclosure, I am a telepath. I do not, however, like to probe minds without permission. Whether you would like it to be part of your sessions is entirely up to your discretion.
