Hello. For those I haven't met, I'm Dr. Jocelyn Xavier, and I've something of an offer.

Before I arrived here, I worked with traumatised people – those who experienced war, torture, abduction, abuse. I helped them come to terms with their pain and work through it.

[She leans forward slightly, speaking intently.]

There is no shame in needing help. Goodness knows I've needed it myself.

[As she settles back...]

I thought there may be others among us who did as well, so I thought I would offer. I've doctorates in psychology and psychiatry, and several years of practical experience.

[The slightest hesitation, ingrained and instinctive.]

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a telepath. I do not, however, like to probe minds without permission. Whether you would like it to be part of your sessions is entirely up to your discretion.

Uh... no. Not for me. But if my sister ever shows up here? We might... need to talk.

[For Wanda's sake? He'd be willing to get a Xavier to help. That and he really, really didn't want to be skinned alive, or whatever else she had planned if it turned out she still remembered that she hated him.]

[Damn. She won't show her disappointment, though, merely nodding.]

I see. I'd be more than willing to help her, whatever she needs.

[She arches an eyebrow, then, smiling slightly.]

You are welcome to come round just to talk, though, if you've ever a free moment. We have...ah...well. We have tea. [Yes, she looks faintly sheepish. Enjoy that, Pietro.]

[Hey, it's not like Pietro has any unresolved issues! Nope, not him.]

Good. I'll hold you to that if you ever get to see what you're dealing with.

[He almost hopes she does, because somehow he doesn't think that their Xavier would be quite so helpful. And she needs somebody, that's for sure.]

[No, he's like Erik that way!]

Feel free. [Her voice is earnest and sincere. She'd want to help the girl even if she weren't Erik's daughter, but as things are - well, it's certainly added incentive.

After a moment, softly...]

Could you tell me a bit about her?

About Wanda? We'd be here forever. You probably don't want me to go into all that unless she actually shows up here.

[And talking about her is too close to talking about his own issues]

It seems increasingly likely she might, considering.

Maybe, maybe not.

[He wasn't quite sure which he was hoping for, to be honest.]

[She nods.]

Where would you like to meet?

There anywhere private around?

[Hopefully where Erik won't be lurking around.]

Our house - such as it is - is fairly secluded.

[Her voice is soft, now, and a bit sad.] Erik takes a run in the mornings, if you want to avoid him.

He told you.

[Pietro looks irritated, but resigned. Of course everyone would know, now.]

I'll find you, then. In the morning some time. When I'm ready.

[He wasn't going to do this on her terms.]

Eventually. He's more torn about it than you may think.

[A slight smile, then, resigned amusement.]

Of course. Any time you like.

I'm sure.

Completely. [It's not exactly doctor-patient confidentiality, but. Close enough.]
