[There's a series of muffled clicks and thumps as he fiddles with the phone settings for a bit, and then his voice comes through clearer, more decisive.]

This is Hawkeye requesting a situation update on what the hell just happened to my team. And, uh. The entire operation, while we're at it.

Can anybody read me?

[call signs aren't really necessary, no. she's still not sure how to feel about this, but she doesn't care at the moment, either]

Have I ever?

[she's almost to the ship now. she's doing her best to hide it, but she's not exactly feeling well, and it's slowing her down, both physically and mentally]

[And he's almost to the door out of here. Pretty soon they should meet up, stop having to talk on this thing and have a face-to-face. Which would suit him just fine.]

Geez. You act like that's a common thing.

Common enough.

[it's said with that faint twist of an almost smile, then Nat turns her phone off, tucking it away in a pocket as she makes it to the ship, watching Clint step out]

What do you still need to know about the change in scenery?

[arrowminded]

[Once he's done blinking against the light he crooks an eyebrow with a faint smile of his own. It's good to see Natasha, despite the circumstances. And maybe because of them, too.]

I'm guessing 'Why?' is too tricky a question right now.

Tricky is one way to put it.

[she hangs back for a few moments, assessing. she isn't exactly keen on giving him whatever the hell's going around at the moment]

Likewise.

[And now that he can see her, he thinks maybe she is looking a little ragged. Not that he'd ever tell her that directly.]

I hear there's something serious going around. You know. Besides dinosaurs.

[even if he said anything, she wouldn't acknowledge it]

The dinosaurs are pretty serious, though the Authorities more so.

Authorities, huh? That does sound serious. [He's half-joking, even if Nat doesn't look like she's really in the mood.]

Wasn't what I meant, though. [And she knows it.]

Only when they're trying to kill us. [oh hey, there's that macabre sense of humour!]

I know. [stubborn girl] If you start feeling ill, there's a Dr McCoy taking patients. You might want to talk to him.

[arrowminded]

[He stares hard at her for a few seconds before letting it go with a little shrug. If she needs him, he'll back her up. She knows that.]

I'll keep that in mind.

Where are you holed up?

[Nat knows all the best places, and by 'best' he of course means with certain tactical advantages. Clint's certain that by now she probably knows every inch of the ruined city they're approaching.]

Edge of the settlement. It's run down, but it works, and we've slummed in worse. [she shrugs, jutting her chin toward the south] Pepper's got a place nearby, too. I swing by on occasion to get cleaned up.

[arrowminded]

Huh. Wonder if Pepper would mind a roommate.

[He's teasing her, obviously. Because they really have holed up in worse places than this.]

Depends on how much water you intend on stealing.

[arrowminded]

Probably not enough to make it worth putting up with Stark.

I don't think there's much of anything worth that.

[arrowminded]

[He huffs a laugh, cranes his neck to study her as they walk.]

So how late am I?

A few weeks. The others arrived before I did.

What's the last thing you remember?

From home? Going to bed after eating schwarma.

[arrowminded]

[He nods]

So you know about Loki.

[redledgerdays]

I know it wasn't your fault. I know whatever he did hurt a lot of people, you included. I know we stopped him, yes.

[arrowminded]

You know he was here?

[redledgerdays]

It was mentioned, but I never saw him.

[arrowminded]

That why you didn't tell me yet? [He can understand why it might not be at the top of her priority list, but he still feels a little raw about it.]

[she knows it bothers him, but she also knows it accomplishes nothing to bring it up] It wasn't important at the time. We both know that.
