I'm certain by now some of you have realized the danger you're in. Disease is nothing to be taken lightly.

If you are not yet ill, and you'd care to be sensible and leave this city while there's still something to be left, I am departing in a day's time. You will have to earn your keep, but I will make sure you're fed, and do not stumble blindly into some monster's lair.

If you wait here and come to your senses later, I'm afraid you'll be on your own.

[Oh hey, old buddy old pal old friend! The look Todd's giving you is a little nervous and a little hopeful.]

[Provided he can round them up. He isn't exactly aware Pietro and Kurt are sick just yet, since, you know, he's not really seen either one in a while....]

[Edmund is going to hate his life by the time the plague's over, isn't he?]

If you're well, and ready to go by the time I leave. Have everything you mean to take with you prepared and at my storeroom the morning after next, at dawn.

[Yes, yes he probably is. Todd grins at him with relief.]

Bedding and fresh clothing, a small knife, and a coil of rope. If you have any particular talents for surviving rough, bring what you need to use them.

[Todd tries to think about that, and what he has and doesn't have.]

I don't think I got any rope, but I kinda don't need it. So that'll be okay, I guess. Uh, we goin' someplace that's got bugs?

[Because, you know. Dinner and stuff.]

Every place south of the wastes has insects, my young friend. I cannot speak to the number.

I'll be staying, but if there's anything you'd like me to look in on while you're away, my organizational skills are infinitely better than my nursing ones.

[There's a thread of weary humour there, but it's worn almost through.

There's a long pause before he continues.]

Come by tomorrow when you have a chance. There are things I'll be bringing with me, but you can have custody of the rest until I return. There won't be any new shipments between now and then anyways.

You can't blame me when you happen to have such attractive assets.

[Pepper has made a small speciality of dryly delivered humour in times of crisis. She employs it now, for all it's short-lived.]

I'll be over in the morning then, before I head to the hospital. No sense in risking tracking anything over to you.

[The chuff of laughter she earns in response is more duty than humour.]

I appreciate the caution. I'll see you tomorrow.

[Might as well not tempt fate. Wizards only tend not to get sick. It's far from a law of nature.]

[She's been feeling a bit... off today, but not sick. Probably just cranky from not finding any other kids here, and worrying about her team.]
