Fettered worker [video] (week 20 - Sunday)
[ The video opens to a very bland view of the ceiling in one of the hospital's patient rooms. But despite the view, you can tell that there's definitely something going on. A female voice, young no doubt, is singing. It is nothing that anyone can translate (unless they are from the culture or have the gift of a talented tongue) but it is soothing, stark comparison of brightness to the gray, dulled atmosphere of the room. ]

[ The sound of fabric shifting and then a hand in the camera's view -- before the device is knocked off its flat surface. ]
-- Ohhh!!
[ But before the device can hit the tiled floor (and possibly break) it is caught, the face of a familiar young goddess now in the video's sight. ]
My apologies! [ She may be holding the device, but she's not looking into it. Rather, her eyes are upon something (someone) off to the side out of the video's camera range. ] I wanted to share something of my home with everyone. [ She sets the device back onto surface -- a brief glimpse in its turn before being set down shows a (sleeping?) woman in a hospital gown, and then Sigyn's hand in the woman's. ] There is no actual purpose behind this message besides my wanting to speak with someone who can take my mind far from these grim circumstances.

And somebody else-- who was watching her on the video with some appreciation-- has no idea what that language was. So he pulls up a voice connection, and asks:]
... so what'd that mean?
[Audio]
[Audio]
[He sounds vaguely confused. He's missed the whole goddess thing, by generally not paying attention to things. He's glad she's still got the video on, though.]
Okay, but-- what did it mean?
[Audio]
[ She turns her head to look at the patient, then turns back to the video phone, still holding the patient's hand. A sharp intake of breath -- woe to her heart. ]
I miss her.
[Audio]
Uh. Well, that's cool. I guess. The Scottish people I guess really liked her or somethin'?
[Audio]
[ She shakes her head, closing her eyes. ]
I hope one day I am seen just as fond.
[Audio]
[Can't help but remind her, after all. If he didn't he'd be remiss in his duties as an occasional killjoy.]
I guess your mom's pretty popular, though, huh?
[Audio]
[ She beams. ]
She is indeed. What a sweet reminder.
[Audio]
Wait. Tributes? Like-- what. Money or somethin'?
[Audio]
[Audio]
[Okay, pretty or not, that is totally messed up. Todd is officially no longer attracted.]
[Audio]
[Audio]
[Todd is thinking she's some kind of crazy, to be honest. Mutants, he's cool with. Wizards, he can handle. Blue space aliens, not that far off from some mutants he knows. But gods?]
Re: [Audio]

[He'll just, uh. Be going now, thanks. He's got enough people with god-complexes in his life, he doesn't need someone literally claiming to be a god.]
My rat-monsters need feeding. Guess I'll, uh, talk to you later.
[Audio]
[ She sets the phone back to recording the ceiling, then presses END. She goes back to focusing her attentions on the patient in the bed, sending as much energy as she can to the woman's body. ]
[Audio]
That makes two of us, lady.
[But then the feed is cut, and there's nothing more to be said. Todd gives his attention back to catching birds for the babies, glad that Magneto never got around to claiming godhood.]

[Chime wears his groundling form, so he's simply a bit peculiar looking, with a reptilian cast to his eyes and oddly sharp teeth, and not a dragonlike monster.]
It was a very nice song. I don't know much about human music. Is that usual?

What is "usual"?

I see. It's ceremonial, then?

[How odd. Is singing alone one of those things that everyone does but Raksura? Or is the human way the strange one?]

[Compared to the last time they spoke, Ashley sounds pretty rough. Being sick: not at all fun.]
Thank you for your compliment. It is Dwarven.

Are there dragons?
[It's possible that, once upon a time, a young Ashley Williams dreamed of being a knight fighting dragons.
Instead, she got a techno-zombie apocalypse and early death. Fate's tricky.]

We don't actually have any where I'm from. Just a few lizards that someone's given delusions of grandeur.
