[Video: Thursday Morning, Week 21]

Wanda is hardly happy to find herself naked in a pod. She’s even less happy that this is the second time in six weeks she’s found herself in an alien environment without prior warning.]

[She’s dressed now, though, and she’s got her communicator on. She’s not exactly smiling, but she looks much further from smashing everything in sight than she feels]

This is getting ridiculous. I’m the Scarlet Witch. Does that mean anything to anybody? [That echoes in her ears for a few seconds before she realizes how stuck up it sounds.] That’s not what I meant. [deep breath]

What I mean is: My name is Wanda Maximoff. I’m a mutant. From Genosha. [She takes another look around her surroundings.] Which is a country on Earth. I… [Wanda does not have much experience socializing outside an island nation ruled by her father, and her discomfort as she tries to figure out what a proper greeting sounds like is obvious.] Who else was abducted by aliens? [It’s a start]

[Talking shop is nice and straightforward, yes. He's a bit relieved. He hadn't really accounted for it either. The Wanda he knows is difficult, but at least it's only a few years' difference. Adults are a different issue.]

Ja, the Authorities. I mean, with a name like that, what do you expect, huh? They're inside this dome--I ported inside one time, actually, and got some pictures. It's not that interesting, but it was hard to teleport through. Like... Well, actually it's kind of like when you mess with my powers, I guess. I have some of the pictures and Todd has others, but it just looks like warehouses and stuff. Didn't want to go looking for trouble my first try.

I expect another MRD. There will always be people like them.

If it works like my powers, maybe I can help with the exploration. You know, like with Mojo. [She shakes her head] Or probably you don't.

Nein, doesn't ring a bell. Neither does MRD, though.

[Sounds like that's not such a bad thing.]

Anyway, I get the idea that most of the time they mostly do the police state thing, but they've all-out attacked a couple times. Including a couple days ago. We're talking hardcore war crime stuff. Attacking the hospital, especially.

That's one thing to be glad of. I guess things hadn't gone that bad yet for you.

[Yup, sounds like her exact idea of a bad guy] I'd love to take them out. How big is this dome of theirs?

[thefuzzyguy]

Big enough to cover a city. You can go take a look any time you want, but, uh, not too close. They're extra... shooty right now. And I'm not sure I'd want to port with a passenger through that dome unless we had a really good plan, since it's so hard to get through.

[Kurt absentmindedly ports up so he's hanging from the rafters by his knees. It's actually a good position for him to think in.]

[Wanda takes it in stride. Her own pose remains a little tense.] What kind of weapons are we talking about?

[thefuzzyguy]

I don't know that much about guns. They have lots of them, I guess, and big artillery stuff, too. Energy weapon stuff. And they have these hovercraft things... Actually, Quicksilver and I stole one. It's in pretty good shape. We don't know that much about how well we can use it yet.

[He's had a little time to work through the mess that was that mission, so he can enjoy the cool parts of it now.]

He mentioned that. [she smiles a little] I'll leave that to someone else to figure out. My specialty is breaking things more than making them work.

And mine is poking things they'd rather I didn't touch. Plus giant domes. That's come up before a lot, actually, but mostly that's because your dad is around...

[He's used to a Wanda who wants to murder her father messily. He doesn't worry about bad mouthing the guy. Besides, they're even when it comes to having crazy superpowered terrorists for parents.]

[Since her father locked her Kurt in a not-so-giant dome until very recently, she's willing to accept a little grumpiness on his part]

[Wanda mulls over a few different things she could say in her father's defense before deciding against all of them.] How well armed are we, anyway? Is there some kind of resistance?

[thefuzzyguy]

There are some soldiers here, but I think they're mostly busy dealing with the big scary animals and monsters. Guess the scary overlords wouldn't be very good at their jobs if they let the other guys get weapons too.

[Kurt's tail lashes a bit like an annoyed cat's as he thinks.]

And remember they can just fly in and start burning stuff if they get mad.

[genoshas_general]

[Wanda frowns at that.] We can't just let them intimidate us. There's got to be something we can do about it.

I'd like to go in and strike back, but if the city has no defenses... [She grabs her hair and pulls it down.] We have to make them afraid of us. At least afraid enough that they hesitate a little while.

[thefuzzyguy]

That's kind of what I thought when I first showed up. But there are a lot of people here who aren't up to fighting, and they're really the ones who get hit when one of us does something dumb.

[Kurt sighs and teleports down onto the bed, looking subdued.]

[genoshas_general]

So we do something smart. We'll find a way. [Wanda rests her head on her hand, feeling drained.] But not tonight.

[thefuzzyguy]

Ja, definitely want to work on it. And there are a lot of cool people here. Plus Todd's not even here. He went with the people who left town when the plague started to get bad. But they should be back soon.

[Of course the Toad is necessary to cool plans.]

[genoshas_general]

[Wanda smiles a little. Kurt cooperating with her and the Brotherhood is strange to her, but in a good way.] For now, I have to sort out accommodations. I'll see you tomorrow?

[thefuzzyguy]

[He's still confused by all the attention. He can't really imagine a future where he's a priority to Wanda. Maybe it's just that Pietro's not feeling well, Todd's up a mountain somewhere with baby monsters, and he's the only mutant left.]

Ja, sure. If you stick around here watch for weird holes in the ceiling. This building's kind of close to collapsing, I think.
