[Video, Thursday morning]

[There's a rueful werewolf on the screen this morning, with some fields in the background of the miniature aethographer's video feed. He's obviously outside, on the edge of town. It looks a bit odd with him completely lacking a coat like everyone else out and about at this hour, but then, he doesn't really need one.]

Ah. This is Randolph Lyall. I could use some help from anyone who might be available....

[And he turns the camera to show a shaggy, vaguely wolfish-looking dog with tawny fur on a rope he's using as a leash to keep it from running away. It's sporting a patented Outer Authority collar and it looks rather hangdog.]

I don't think the poor thing needs to have that stuck on its neck, now, do you?

Ah, and... how long have you been awake at this point?

[The question is innocuous as Kaidan ruffles the collared dog's ears. His eyebrows are only raised sightly.]

[Lyall raises his brows, back, and smiles at
Kaidan's question. It is an unusual feeling to have people actually asking after his health, even subtly, and he's still not used to it, even after a few months now.]

Just since sundown last night, I assure you. Not that long at all. Should I ask you the same question?

[Kaidan's answer comes first in the shake of his head and his smile,but he does give an answer, mixed in between further fussing over the dog, who now droops across his legs.]

No need -- with the plague not a problem any more I'm actually being a sensible adult again.

The plague may not be a problem for you, Alenko, but I assure you it is still a problem.

[He's not terribly serious in the prod, though, and is quick to add, with a smile,]

I am glad you are feeling more yourself, however.

[Terribly serious or not, it does provoke an Awkward Alenko to appear, before the major catches himsel f with a cough and a very mild glower at Lyall as if he suspects him of poking fun.]

Yeah. It's... nice. You definitely appreciate health more when you lose it for a while. But how's the shade working for you? OK to wait until the third shows up...?

[Lyall chuckles and pats Kaidan's shoulder affectionately.]

I was only teasing, my friend. And I am fine here to rest. You can tell me what you are turning your hand to now, in the workshop, if anything. I haven't had time to drop by in weeks, it seems, but hopefully soon there will be more time.
