[The video is turned on but, should you be someone who does not believe in Jack Frost, the video shows nothing except the scenery. The camera doesn't really seem to move. Unless, of course, one knows and believes in the entity holding the camera!

However, should you be a believer in Jack Frost, you will see a boy about eighteen with a very pale face, bright blue eyes, and white hair. He's crouched somewhere, staring intently into the phone with such a desperately hopeful look on his face. After about a minute of nothing (or staring), text finally appears.]

Can anyone see me? I've been here for a few hours now, please tell me someone can see!

[There's another pause.]

Fine. Can anyone at least answer this? I'm looking for a couple people and they're pretty hard to miss. There's North, though you guys would may know his as ol' St. Nick, aka Santa. There's Tooth, definitely can't miss her. She's got feathers all over with fairy wings, aka the Tooth Fairy. Sandman is a little guy, but he generally floats around on a sand cloud and then there's the Easter Bunny. Over six feet tall, carries some boomerangs and egg bombs, complete with an Australian accent. If you've seen them or if any of you guys are reading this, let me know!

Please. Tell me if you see me. I gotta know.

Because I'm still real. You just can't see me. Which is why I resorted to the text. At least you can see that.

Oh. [A laugh. ] That makes sense. It must be...rather lonely.

Yeah. You get used to it. My name's Jack Frost, by the way.

I don't think I would. I'd feel like a ghost.

[Which he almost was.]

Jack Frost. It's a nice name. I'm Wing.

It's not much of a choice. You get through it or... or you don't. It was hard at first, I won't lie.

So this isn't who you always were?

Well, my name was always Jack. The Frost part was a new addition. I was... I was human before.

[He's not really gonna go into detail about how he became a Guardian, since his way was different from the others.]

Oh.

...did you die? [Tacky question.] I died, too. That is, before I came here.

Sorry. I shouldn't have asked that. [Foot: in mouth.]

[So for a few moments there, Jack doesn't text. Because no one's really guess that before and he never really told the other Guardians yet.]

Yeah. I did. It's fine, though. I wasn't really trying to keep it a secret, it's just a bit of a downer, you know?

I understand. I'm sorry. But perhaps you have a greater purpose now, as Jack Frost?

Yeah. I'm a Guardian.

That sounds important. [A grin.] I'm a type of guardian, too. Only, I think, less important.

Well, it means I get to protect children and childhood itself. I'm sure your Guardianship is just as important.

That sounds very important. All I do is protect our city. Or I did till I came here.

Protecting a city is pretty important too, though.

It is. We needed to be safe. But I had the whole Circle of Light beside me, at least.

I've got four others with me. I'm not a Guardian on my own. I'm the newest one, in fact.

That sounds like a great deal of responsibility, for only five.

[He sounds impressed.]

It is, but we manage. And it's not like there aren't other spirits around that help out in their own way even if they don't have the title of Guardian.

It still sounds very important. Especially if you are commanding others.

Can I ask what a 'Guardian' means? [Because he can kind of hear the capital G']

That's the Man in the Moon's job, commanding others. Ours is to protect the children and childhood. That's what being a Guardian means.

They're the ones in greatest need of protection, then?

Yeah. We... we try to keep their hopes and dreams alive. There are those who want to take them away, leave them fearful of everything. We're there to protect that and them.

Taking anyone's hope away is...the worst. You do important work, your friends.
