[The video is turned on but, should you be someone who does not believe in Jack Frost, the video shows nothing except the scenery. The camera doesn't really seem to move. Unless, of course, one knows and believes in the entity holding the camera!

However, should you be a believer in Jack Frost, you will see a boy about eighteen with a very pale face, bright blue eyes, and white hair. He's crouched somewhere, staring intently into the phone with such a desperately hopeful look on his face. After about a minute of nothing (or staring), text finally appears.]

Can anyone see me? I've been here for a few hours now, please tell me someone can see!

[There's another pause.]

Fine. Can anyone at least answer this? I'm looking for a couple people and they're pretty hard to miss. There's North, though you guys would may know his as ol' St. Nick, aka Santa. There's Tooth, definitely can't miss her. She's got feathers all over with fairy wings, aka the Tooth Fairy. Sandman is a little guy, but he generally floats around on a sand cloud and then there's the Easter Bunny. Over six feet tall, carries some boomerangs and egg bombs, complete with an Australian accent. If you've seen them or if any of you guys are reading this, let me know!

Please. Tell me if you see me. I gotta know.

[Maybe Santa just didn't have contingency plans for poor kids with no families, or something. Todd never thought about it like that, of course; he just got mad and gave up on the whole thing early on.]

[He flips on his own video to show his froggy face, grinning back at Jack's. In his own peculiar way, he can believe in a lot, especially invisible people with pretty cool powers. Santa would be harder, but Jack Frost never did anything to offend him. Even if he's completely unaware of the lore behind him.

So when he sees the shaggy silver hair, he waves at the camera on his end, and goes from texting to talking. Much easier to parse, that way.]

[It was certainly a surprise to have someone who didn't believe in Santa Claus outright believe in him, of all people. He even looks surprised, eyes fairly wide and he doesn't outright speak.]

[Jack Frost was never a jerk to Todd. You're looking at a clean, fresh potential believer, right there, who doesn't require much to be convinced of anything. He cocks his head at Jack's confused expression.]

So hey. I see ya. That's a good thing, right? Weird power you got there, bro.

[He can see him! Holy crap! Jack tries to get his feels under control by looking away for the moment, taking several deep breaths. No really, he looks about to cry.]

It's what happens when children don't or stop believing in you. You lose power and the ability to be seen. Most kids don't believe in winter spirits, so I've never really had anyone see me until recently.

What, y'didn't do anythin' to prove you existed? I mean, you totally just proved it to me, not that hard, yo.

[Todd cocks his head in mild confusion.]

Or did they, like. Gotta know your name or somethin' first?

[Since it seems all... specific, and stuff. Winter sprites. Hey, Todd can roll with it.]

I don't normally have a phone that's connected to a network at the push of a button. I could probably take someone's phone but they'd just think it was some sort of prank or hacking.

Yeah, most kids barely know my name and when they find out and ask, I'm just brushed off. I'm nobody, just an expression. Kind of like the Boogeyman, really. Only he's real, too.

[Todd looks incredulous, but hey, this guy is real, right? Maybe it's just some guy who took that mantle up, the way he took the name Toad.]

Well I was asking for them along with Santa, you know. But yeah, they're real. The boogeyman's name is Pitch Black and the Easter Bunny goes by Bunnymund.

[What, you expect Todd to remember that far back? Yeesh. He does scroll back-- on screen-- though the texts until he finds that one, and looks at it skeptically.]

Huh. Guess so. That's still really weird, yo. But I guess it ain't weirder than teleporting or controlling metal or whatever, so hey, who'm I to judge?

Yeah, well, like I said. Never got nothin', so why should I? But if you ain't totally crazy, then I guess maybe he's out there-- maybe it's a different world than mine is, and yours has 'im and mine don't.

Could be? [That would be sad though. A world with no North?] But no, I'm not crazy. Wish he was here right now, to be honest.

Yeah, well. We all wish we had guys here who ain't here. Though he might show up, ya never know. I had two guys from home show up, after I'd been here a while. There's so many of those pod things with people in 'em, it ain't even funny.

Well, then I guess I can just hope that North or any of the others show up.

[Though, he's not entirely sure they should be here either. What if the kids stop believing while they're gone?]

[He gives a mostly-mocking little salute to the guy, then makes an attempt at being helpful.]

So you got a place to stay yet? Found the Flop?

[He shakes his head, curling his arm around his staff to lean against.]

I don't usually stay indoors. I'm a Seasonal Spirit, after all.

[Not that he can't. He just doesn't.]

Oh. Well, hey, that works pretty good. Do you, uh, sleep and stuff? Or you just don't mind sleepin' outside?

[Hey, he doesn't know anything about spirits, seasonal or otherwise, so how's he supposed to guess this stuff, right?]

Yeah, I don't need much but I do sleep. I sleep outside because it limits contact with people. Not exactly a comfortable thing being walked through.

[He shrugs matter of factly. Though give him a piece of carpet and a pillow and he'd be set.]

Wow, yeah, I bet it wouldn't be. Though the X-geeks back home have a girl who does that. She walks through people and walls and, y'know, whatever. Pretty useful, though kinda annoying when she's beating you up with it.
