[It's a slightly harried looking Wing who appears on the communicator. He doesn't look injured, just...stressed out, his gold optics dim and tarnished-looking.]

H-has anyone else seen Dr. Liara T'Soni? I mean recently? I swore I saw her. But...[He looks around, almost on edge, and the camera moves to show that Wing's in a dead-end corridor. He's chased what he thought was her--and was definitely something--down here.] But, well, you can see.

If she's here, she

[....and then he goes blank for six or seven long seconds, almost like he's been shut off, but then he starts speaking, continuing the sentence as if nothing had happened.]

needs our help.

[Wing looks down, and then laughs. Why hadn't he used some common sense?]

Jack! [He smiles, seeing the smaller creature, surrounded by a halo of cold, blue shimmering on his thermal scan.] There you are.

[It totally didn't matter that this was a giant robot. He could be seen! This feeling was just not going to get old for him. Not until children saw him normally. He wasn't sure if it was because of the fact that he was able to communicate with the others that seemed to be making the process easier but he knew it was definitely helping. He laughed again.]

Here I am. And you're a lot bigger than I imagined!

[Even if he told Wing to use his thermal scan, he was still glad that he was being seen in some form. Who knows, maybe Wing wouldn't need the scanner after this. It was hard to deny his existence now.]

[The laugh is infectious, even in the circumstances.]

I'm actually small for my kind. [Relatively speaking, that is.]

[For his part, it's exciting not to have someone be afraid of him.]

How do you fly, though? [Because he can't see anything like wings.]

[Wing was small for his kind? Oh man. And there was no way Jack could be afraid of Wing. Well, except be a little worried about being squished but the teen was quick on his feet.]

The wind, remember?

[With a grin, he called the wind and soon he was hovering in the air, hair and sweatshirt moving as the wind blew through the corridor to keep him afloat. Jack was now at eye level of Wing.]

Wind's nice here, like on Earth.

[He was almost the smallest of the knights.]

[He gives a delighted sound as Jack moves, borne by the wind.]

That is...truly amazing.

[He grins widely as well.]

Thank you.

[His smile softens, however.]

So, you doin' okay?

Me? [A laugh, just on the edge of embarrassed. ] I've been better. I just wish I knew what was going on.

Well, you seemed to like... shut off for a minute there. It was really weird.

[He goes to seat himself right on Wing's shoulder. The Wind is better at helping him fly outside. Inside was a different story and he didn't want to stress it out too much.]

I did?

[He frowns, even as he flattens the pinions of one shoulder nacelle for Jack to settle near. Only Tolansky before him seemed comfortable doing this and honestly, he couldn't hide the way it comforted him.]

I have been feeling a bit...strange.

Strange, how? [He nods, raising a foot to rest against the pinion and curl an arm around.] Yeah. Your eyes went dark and you stopped moving for maybe five seconds. And then you continued on like nothing happened.

[He rubs his abdominal plating. ] A sort of upset here. And sometimes my chronometer has glitched. [He thinks it's glitched at least.]

...your stomach hurts?

[He's not exactly sure how to help with that or with a chronometer.]

Not sure how to help an upset stomach of a robot...

Stomach? [A pause while he references that word.] Oh, no. Not that. It's our spark. I'm not sure you have anything like it. The source of our life. It feels...unsettled somehow. It's nothing dangerous, I'm sure. Just a bit uncomfortable.

[Oh. So like a soul. That's pretty neat.]

Huh. I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe it's what's going on in here? You said you saw your friend and then she wasn't there anymore, plus the shutting off and turning on thing.

[He gives a worried sound. ] If it is just me, then, well, there is no one suited to fix me.

You sure? I mean, there isn't like... a mechanic around that could do it?

[Jack knew next to nothing about machines, so he was no help.]

I, well...all the ones who worked on me before are gone. And they said my work was complicated.

I guess that makes sense, in a way.

[Sentient things were a bit complicated most of the time.]

I'm sure you'll be fine. Maybe it's just this place weirding you out.

But I should find someone new, you're right.

Did I tell you about the one who used 'sorcery' to heal me?

Jack. If you see anything strange from me, you will let me know, please?

Really? No way! What kind of sorcery? Did it work?

[He looked rather excited to hear this and very curious to know. He frowned that those next words.]

Of course. I promise.

[He's not gonna mess up this new friendship by overlooking something like... like him shutting down again.]

I don't know sorcery came in kinds. Loki laid a hand on me, though, and it healed several damaged components.

Though, I suppose he did another kind, later on. One that required components and chanting and things.

That one I don't think worked.

[A smile.] Thank you, Jack. And if there's something I can do for you, please ask.

Maybe he'll come back? Never know. [He smiled and nodded.] Sure, no problems.

[Though he probably wouldn't. He's not used to asking for help or really even having friends, this was all very new for him.]

I would like him to. He seemed sad, though, while he was here. I wish I'd found out why.

[He's the only person here who probably missed Loki.]

Everyone's got their secrets. I'm sure he would have told you eventually.
