[And then the video kicks in showing a man wearing an extremely garish orange flightsuit, made even more offensive to the eye by the addition of an extremely colourful cloak over top. The colours seem to be shifting.]

Okay, so woke up here naked. That's a new one. I'm going to take a wild guess and say this is another case of interdimensional strangeness.

[The feed is powered on in mid-fumble and for a moment the video is tilted and jarred awkwardly until the user can seem to get a handle on the device, seemingly out of surprise.]

[Finally, Luke's face comes into focus as he gets a hold of the device and points it at himself.]

Well, I figured everyone would appreciate it if I took a moment to put some pants on. But basically just now.

[Luke gives an exasperated laugh and pushes his hair out of his face. He looks glad to see Wes but there's that now-familiar pang of guilt that a friend is now stuck in the same hellhole.]

And uh... from Mayfield, right?

[He can only assume such since Wes looks almost exactly as he did the last Luke saw him, awkwardly ten years into Luke's future and a bit worn and torn from their experience in that godforsaken town.]

[Luke shakes his head, mildly amused.]

Nope, not as such. Though it would have been nice if they'd provided us a whole wardrobe, ugly or otherwise. I've been doing random jobs for people to trade for clothing they've scavenged from abandoned buildings.

And uh, I'll lend you some things, otherwise you'll be spending the first week or two in the same clothes. You start to notice people keeping a clear radius around you.

No one from home but the two of us. And Kaylee's the only other one from Mayfield that I know of.

[Yeah, interesting would be a word for it alright.]

[Luke just grins shyly and decides not to answer that first question. He doesn't think Wes seriously wants to know those details.]

Yeah, they seem to have rigged a lot of devices for standard text-voice-video functions. This isn't even one of the fancier datapads that has transmission capabilities, it's just a little cheap one. But somehow they rigged it.

This place isn't as out there as Mayfield was but there are still a few things that just don't make sense.

Let's see... Well, the ship is a mystery in and of itself but what's really strange about it is that my Force powers diminish when I'm near it. I don't really like going in there if I don't have to.

The other big one is why we're all here in the first place. Mayfield actually made sense once we asked the right people the right questions but here? Not even the veterans have any idea why we're all waking up in stasis pods on a seemingly dormant alien ship.

I guess it all boils down to the ship, really.

Okay, so we're up against an undefined menace. My favourite. The ship's not like anything anyone's seen?

You got it. There are a few others from space-faring worlds too and they can't make much out of it, either. No one can bring the ship online because no one can figure out its main power source.

Even Kaylee's stumped and you know what a genius she is with stuff like this.
