Video

[Before the image comes on, a few words can be heard]

Oh, the commlinks here have visual, that's a step up.

[And then the video kicks in showing a man wearing an extremely garish orange flightsuit, made even more offensive to the eye by the addition of an extremely colourful cloak over top. The colours seem to be shifting.]

Okay, so woke up here naked. That's a new one. I'm going to take a wild guess and say this is another case of interdimensional strangeness.

[Or downloading completely wrong?]

How am I doing so far? I could use a sitrep.

Is your military conducting psychological warefare on its enemies, or just colourblind? There is no species that could make that shade look good.

Oh -- welcome to Verdana. It's cold out, as I mentioned, so hopefully that rig's got some padding to it on top of offending all sapient life with working eyes.

Well, that explains it. Uniforms a la thrift store... not that Starfleet's couldn't do with some modifications. Close-fitting's fine when you're all pretty and young and an 18 year old cadet, but there are a few admirals out there... not kind, not kind.

[Bones refrains from finding any 35+ solidarity with said admirals, at at least voicing it aloud. He's still pretty, thanks.]

If it's space rated and you've got a contained breathing rig, find a fellow named Tony Stark. He's doing some repairs and needs people who can work in low oxygen to help him.

Good. Stark keeps his communicator pretty glued to himself when he doesn't need his hands free. Get patched together and go see him... and in the meantime, I'm sending a couple waypoints to your comm -- map tot he Flop and a map to Edmund's trade shop.

Group housing, for those of us off the ship who are too new, too lazy, or just too damned busy to bother with finding accomodations elsewhere. It's not bad if you don't mind roommates, and you can get a change of local clothing there, as well as some basic meals served.

I prefer the hospital, but I stay at the Flop when the nurses gang up on me and chase me out.

At least they're not all young Academy hotshots... although at least I only had one roommate then. Well, that's about it in terms of critical places. Economy's based off of barter and trade, so Edmund can tell you what to do with yourself if you don't have any ideas.

Oh, and watch out for the local wildlife. There are teeth.
