I'm back. The trip was worthwhile, I think.

Kaylee, Tosh, I have a project I could use your help with. The area where the ship's power core is located is going to need life support routed there as soon as possible. Between the three of us, we should be able to rig up a solution fairly quickly.

For anyone who might venture out into the mountains, be careful. I encountered some saber-toothed cats and an Andrewsarchus there.

I'm fairly new, and not the heroic sort to seek adventures on my own. And frankly, if one were looking for a companion when going hunting or something like that, I would likely be one of the last people picked, sir.

Well, if you ever want to seek adventure with someone else, I'm sure you'll find plenty of volunteers here, myself included. If I'm not too busy at the time, anyway.

[he smiles warmly] I'm not much of a hunter myself, so don't worry about that. There's a garden some of us are working on, if that's of interest to you.

[He perks at the news of a garden. But then thinks of Briar, and the smile fades.] Is that the indoor garden? Or is there another one?

"Indoor" isn't exactly the right word...it's actually underground. But yes, that's the only garden in the area I know of.

I met him the other day, and he seemed--I don't quite know how to put it--sharp perhaps? It felt more like a hostile confrontation than a conversation. [And Armand had had great hope just because Briar had looked young, possibly younger than he was himself.]
