[After a day of wandering around the island market and learning a bit about this place, Thor has finally borrowed Kaidan's communicator, since he's not about to try making a call from inside a ship that sails under the water! So here he is, looking somewhere between confident, amiable, and concerned. Maybe concerned is a bit more to the forefront than he would like.]

Greetings! This is Thor Odinson of Asgard, and I was told there are people who know me who can hear this message. Stark? Doctor Banner? Can you hear me? I will keep this device on hand, please feel free to reply to my message later, if you cannot hear it yet.

[And that's that. He fiddles with buttons for a moment, carefully so as not to damage the delicate little thing, and then the feed shuts itself off.]

It appears the walls between the worlds are thin indeed, if you are truly who you claim.

Of what do you speak, my lady? I am aware of many worlds, and I have been told there may be many more, but what are these walls you mention?

[There's a long pause, incredulity bleeding across the comm channels, even without a video feed to make it plain.]

If you truly do not know, it would take much more than a few minutes over these devices to make it clear. Suffice to say that passage should not be nearly so simple.

[Okay, now he's really lost. Is she talking about that theory Alenko was talking about, with multiple versions of people, perhaps...? Simplest way to find out:]

[And he's silently praying to Valhalla she's not another Vanir wanting to take out aeons of spleen on him. One is bad enough.]

[While not particularly friendly, neither does she sound truly hostile - if she harbours any resentment towards him, it is buried deep beneath discipline and self-control.]

That, too, is a more complicated question than you know. For now, let us say no. I will explain further when we stand in the same place - these channels are not secure, and I would prefer to give those who might monitor them as few weapons as I can.

You may call me Gard. And merely that - my chosen name is honour enough.

[Though he's not so sure about "honor enough", he's good with calling people what they want to be called, mostly. Sometimes nicknames stick, but this is something he can do.]

Are you of Midgard, as well?

[It seems like everybody's from Earth, pretty much. Even winter-spirit-boy.]

I reside there, yes. [Which is not quite the same thing.]

Although I arrived here through a branching of the Ways, rather than as most of the others here did.
