[After a day of wandering around the island market and learning a bit about this place, Thor has finally borrowed Kaidan's communicator, since he's not about to try making a call from inside a ship that sails under the water! So here he is, looking somewhere between confident, amiable, and concerned. Maybe concerned is a bit more to the forefront than he would like.]

Greetings! This is Thor Odinson of Asgard, and I was told there are people who know me who can hear this message. Stark? Doctor Banner? Can you hear me? I will keep this device on hand, please feel free to reply to my message later, if you cannot hear it yet.

[And that's that. He fiddles with buttons for a moment, carefully so as not to damage the delicate little thing, and then the feed shuts itself off.]

[Yes! Scored another! Well, sort of. Since it's, well, Thor. But hey, the more the merrier.]

I was mostly joking around. Even I don't want the Big Four all up in here, even if it'd be nice. This place isn't something I'd want for them to be in.

[He shook his head.]

Nah. But Wing told me about Loki, once. And then Sigyn's here. So Thor isn't too far-fetched for me to believe. I'm Jack Frost. Or, uh, [Thinking a moment. What did the Norse people call him again? He was told this once before when he found out he hadn't been the first Winter Spirit to take on his duties.] Jokul Frosti? Ring any bells?

Jokul Frosti, yes, I know that name!

[Then he pauses, frowns at the screen, and adds,]

Though you look nothing like him. Is he a relative?

[The names are similar, after all. Though possibly similar more in the vein of "svartalf" meaning "dark elf", and the like. Heh.]

I, uh, sort of took his place, you could say. I was never outright told what happened to him, but Winter is a harsh season to control. I think he eventually passed on and without him, they needed a new one.

[He shrugged lightly, twirling his staff before resting it on his shoulders.]

I'm the new Shepherd of Winter. Call me Jack.

Very well. Jack it is. It is a pleasure to meet you, even if it is only through the medium of this device.

[There's some curiosity there, too, so he adds, after politeness is satisfied:]

Do you actually control winter? I only know of the Jotun, who have power over ice and cold, but they do not have power over the season itself.

I could always meet you somewhere if you prefer?

[He nodded.]

I control ice and cold too, but yeah, I help bring in winter. Well, I guess it's more over the weather than the season itself. But what is winter without ice and cold, right?

I am a little far from this Old City of yours for an easy meeting, Jack. A ship left your ports a few weeks ago, and I am traveling with it. We are on an island somewhere across the sea. Though when we return, I would be glad to meet you!

[And everyone. Except possibly the angry Vanir. Yeeeeah.]

Oh, right, I heard about that. I could just fly over but I don't even know where you guys went.

[So it's no biggie, he'll wait. And don't worry, looks like he calmed her down a bit.]

Alright, then. Just lemme know when you return!

It would no doubt take some time, which could be better spent elsewhere. But I will certainly let you know when I return! I imagine it will be difficult to miss, considering how many of us there are.

Was wondering why it seemed quieter around here.

[He laughed, sweeping his arm behind him where the Old City lay.]

[Thor laughs.]

Have we taken all the exciting people in this voyage, then? Or just all the noisy ones?

[He likes Jack. Jack is officially in his cool book.]

{Of course Jack is in the cool book. When is he not? And Santa's Naughty list is totally the cool book.]

A little of both, I think. Can't really be all that quiet with teenagers, now can you?

[Though, he probably didn't count, sadly. On account not many could see him.]

Or sometimes with grown men! You should hear some of my friends, when there is drink in them. But I will agree, there has been some excitement here, whether of our own making or thrust upon us.

[Not enough of it, for his taste, but he knows his tastes are a bit extreme.]

Yeah, I can see that. Plenty of drunk adults can certainly cause a ruckus.

So what's going on over there anyway? I only just arrived a month ago and they left shortly after. I never got the details.

Those on this ship are traveling to a distant land to help distribute a cure for a deadly plague. I imagine there will be some trade agreements made, as well, and possibly diplomatic relations.

At the moment, however, not much is happening at all. We are on an island awaiting the next leg of our journey.

[A deadly plague. Ick, good thing he missed that.]

Diplomatic relations... how boring. But I guess if it helps us out, then why not?

It is, I admit, not my strongest point. But my father has been trying to teach me, and I have been trying to learn. I do not know if I will be of much use on this journey, but I am here, for good or for ill.

Well, I hope it is. We could use more allies around here.

Considering the length of time needed to travel here, allies will have to be of the far distant kind. But all allies would be welcome, regardless. Are there not many friends in this Old City I hear of?

Um. I don't really know? I mean, I've made friends from what few can see me but a majority can't. But some people seem pretty nice and others just want to retaliate against the Authorities. I haven't spoken to too many to really know, sorry.

No harm, Jack! Any information is better than none. People do wish to fight back against these Authories? I have heard some about them and their reign of terror, but not much about any resistance efforts.

[Thor is a bit over-dramatic sometimes in his speech patterns. Don't mind him.]

Yeah, they do. But I think it depends on who you talk to. Some want to fight back without casualties and others just want to straight up attack. I haven't been here long enough to know much about any resistance though.

You are relatively new, then. Did you come from this ship I hear tell of, as well? Are people still waking from there?

[Small steps in questioning, apparently.]
