Video | Monday evening
[After a day of wandering around the island market and learning a bit about this place, Thor has finally borrowed Kaidan's communicator, since he's not about to try making a call from inside a ship that sails under the water! So here he is, looking somewhere between confident, amiable, and concerned. Maybe concerned is a bit more to the forefront than he would like.]
Greetings! This is Thor Odinson of Asgard, and I was told there are people who know me who can hear this message. Stark? Doctor Banner? Can you hear me? I will keep this device on hand, please feel free to reply to my message later, if you cannot hear it yet.
[And that's that. He fiddles with buttons for a moment, carefully so as not to damage the delicate little thing, and then the feed shuts itself off.]

Alien royalty who teams up with her boyfriend to fight other aliens... we'll call it a work in progress. She lifts a hand, smile telegraphing reassurance.]
Don't apologize -- first, it wasn't your idea, and second Tony was so impressed by the pair of craters that I had to talk him out of getting them capped with glass and kept as part of the room's décor and I'm not sure he was joking about that.
You're the second person I've run into who didn't arrive by the ship -- a woman named Ms. Gard is the first, if you want to talk with her. She's gotten her own communicator since, although I, um, guess you'll have to wait for the boat to get back before you can do likewise.

[He would love to hitch a ride home, whenever it is functional... hint hint... though if he's lucky, Heimdall will find him sooner than that and his father will find a way to bridge the bifrost here. Or the tesseract. Or something.
He'll even help the others, if that happens!]
[She pairs the sarcasm with a small dimple to her cheeks that soon vanishes int he face of business.]
It's having issues with its power systems too, which is a bit more immediately critical as there are thousands of people still in the stasis pods. That said, Tony and some others are working on it. In the meantime, I'm happy to fill you in on any details of the planet, if you want to keep checking in from time to time. Major Alenko will probably let you use his comm again -- we don't really interact much, but he seems pretty capable.
[How little he knows of where they're going, heh.]
I am especially looking forward to renewing contact with my companions from Midgard. Who is here? Stark has already spoken to me, and Barton, but no one else. Alenko suggested there were quite a few people I might know.
[Encrypted Video]
Who's here is a complicated question, unfortunately. People wake from the pods, sometimes they return to stasis in them for no reason, only to wake up again later and often with no memory of their previous time here.
Here and awake, we have myself, Tony and agents Romanov and Barton. Dr. Banner's recently fallen back out of contact, I need to search the ship and see. Captain Rogers woke and then several months ago just... vanished, he's not in the pods. Phil-- Agent Coulson is here ins tasis but hasn't woken. And Thor, I'm sorry you missed her, your SHIELD dossier suggested you were close and we did talk a bit, but Jane Foster was here and awake for a while -- we actually roomed together -- but she's gone back into stasis again.
[Replied in kind]
Oh. Is she well, in that stasis? You mentioned... power problems, on the ship where she is sleeping.
[And also that Stark was trying to fix them. If anyone can, he can, right? ... right?]

[Pepper's lips compress again after all this reassurance, however.]
I won't lie to you, Prince Thor. If the ship's power drain continues, the pods will fail, Jane's among them. But Tony's working with a team to fix it, and I have no doubt in my mind that he's going to do exactly that. We'll keep Jane safe for you, I promise that.
no subject
Thank you. I have not seen her in a long time. It would be well if I could see her again, when I return, even if it is just while she sleeps.
[And he doesn't think that's particularly creepy. Different cultures, and all. People watch his father sleep all the time.]
no subject
We'll make sure you can. Now -- how is the voyage progressing? Everyone still in one piece?

[He looks a bit sheepish.]
Accidentally set fire to a portion of the desk. It has been long since I sailed on a vessel of this type, and I did not control my lightning as well as I should have.

[Pepper lifts one hand to delicately pinch the bridge of her nose.]
This planet gets stranger by the day. I'm glad the ship didn't take severe damage, at least, either from the monster or the lightning. Are the crew accepting you? I let Captain Silene know that some unusual people would be going on the trip, at least.
no subject
The crew seems to work well enough with us, though there are sometimes strange looks and we are not very often invited to share at their tables at supper in the hold.
[He shrugs.]
It could be worse. It helps, I believe, that many of us are helping them with no complaints.

[Pepper runs aground briefly on the thought, before smiling and pushing on.]
Well, let me know if you want anything waiting for you.

[He spreads the one arm not holding the phone to display that he's wearing his armor, and has Mjolnir at his side, but that's not really all that much.]

A place to stay won't be a problem. Nem, the local head of government has accommodations set up for new arrivals. The basics of food, shelter and a change of clothing if you need it, nothing glamorous. If you want a space of your own -- I certainly have one -- it's just a matter of finding said space and making it liveable.
I can help you find one when you get here, and if we can't cobble it together between all of us, I'll be very surprised.
no subject
[Simple curiosity, there. No one's really gotten around to explaining the state of the Old City to Thor yet. He knows there's some kind of oppression going on, but not much more than that.]
no subject
Of course...
{Pepper leavens this grim news with a smile.]
I've heard rumours that you're pretty good with a hammer.
no subject
You have heard rightly. Though wielding it to build will be a new experience, that I will also grant. I will look forward to my arrival, then. Perhaps I may be of some use after all.
