FETTERED CRY [VIDEO]

[ Sigyn's frantic as she gets onto the network, and she looks harried and worried, inside the ship. She speaks quickly and with strain in her voice. ]

Loki Odinson is within Verdana. Do not harm him! He is not the Loki we know. He is an Other that has no connection to our Loki in deeds.

[ She puts her hands together in prayer with the phone between her hands. ] Prince Thor, wherever you may be upon the sea, Princess Sigyn requests to speak with you at once!

[ ooc: takes place after her scuffle with Loki aboard the ship. ]

[Okay, this wasn't getting Briar anywhere. Sigyn was clearly somewhere in the ship so...that was where Briar needed to go.

A little while later, Briar arrived at the ship]

Okay, now as I was going to ask you - the dagger. Where'd you last see it?

[ Sigyn's near break down, looking for her dagger. When Briar arrives she turns to him, grateful. ]

I tossed it away from Loki.

You silly bleater, what'd you do that for? [Briar chuckled softly. Well, at least it wasn't stolen]

Where were you when you tossed it?

[ She makes a face at the word 'bleater', but points to where her dagger had cut into the ship floor. There are still some electrical sparks. ] There.

[Briar couldn't help but watch the sparks with curiosity. He'd be told about how things like the ship used lightning to work, but this is the first time he's actually seen any proof of it. He'd have to be careful, though - he wasn't Tris. He wasn't immune to lightning. And he wasn't Daja either, so he couldn't use his magic to sense where the dagger was. They'd have to find it the hard way.]

So if that's where you were standing, which way did you throw?

[ She swing her arm to the direction she faces. ] This way. [ And it is so blasted dark in the shadows that it's hard to find. ]

Alright then, that's where we gotta look, ain't it? [The shadow's don't bother Briar. Back when he was still a street rat, he lived most of his life in the shadows. Course, if he'd had Sandry's light-crystal that would have made things easier...but they'd have to make do with what they had. He moves forward, and starts carefully searching for the dagger]

But it is very dark, Briar!

[ If she were in right state of mind, she would have used her magic to light up the shadows and find it instantly. But the dagger holds so much emotional significance that losing it drives her to an edge. ]

Well you can't let that stop...[Briar pauses, remembering something]...wait. Aren't you able to magic up a light?

Aye. [ Sigyn turns her head to Briar, waiting expectantly for him to continue, not realizing the obvious. ]

[Briar raised an eyebrow. Really, Sigyn, you're supposed to be smarter than this] Then why don't you do that, and then we can see where your dagger is?

[ she laughs sardonically. ] Aye, why do I not do -- [ She freezes, cheeks heating in embarrassment when she realizes that she could have just used her magic to find her dagger and not have caused such commotion.

She laughs nervously, then lets blue magic pool in her palm. It glints in the slants of sun peeking in from outside the ship. She then tosses it into the air, sending a silent sparkling shower of light that pushes out the darkness of the hall. Sigyn spots her dagger a foot away and goes to it, grabs it, then sheathes it, all while her back is turned to Briar.

She doesn't want to see what she assumes would be smugness in his face. ]

My thanks, Briar.

[Briar shrugs, and grins. He doesn't really need the thanks - not for helping out a friend] What would you do without me?

[ She wryly smiles, arching a brow. ] Never again see my father's dagger, most likely.

You need to get yourself some other knives, if you're going to keep tossing 'em about like that.

[Briar sighs. At least the crisis is over, now. And he's just remembered something else, too]

Oh - I gotta ask you something, too.

Hmm? [ Sigyn blinks, walking over to him. ] Do you have something to say to me?

Not to say, to ask. I'm going away from the city for a few days, to help Pepper with trying to get some trade going. But I need someone to look after the plants while I'm gone.

[ Sigyn blinks, dubiously at first, and then a smile spreads itself upon her face. ] Are you entrusting me with your sacred duties, Briar? If so, I am very much honored.

[Briar snorts] Sure. It's very sacred, the art of weeding and fertiliser. Can't you see how holy it's made me?

[ She chuckles. ] My eyes deceive me! For I thought your very visage was to be divine. [ She dramatically put her hands before her face, covering her eyes, and tilts her head back. ] All handsome men must be just that.

[Briar keeps his face perfectly straight] Of course my visage is divine. All the ladies say so!

[ Sigyn is thankful that her sister Lofn had made her take lessons of theatrics. For they come in very handy for acts such as this. ] A lie! Oh -- great Seers of Vanaheim!

[ She drops down onto her knees folded beneath her, an arm covering her eyes as Sigyn pitches false woe. ] Must I be taunted by lovely faces?

If it helps, I could wear a veil. [Briar grins at her, wicked]

Only a veil? [ She cracks a 'snerk', unable to keep it back. ] Do I get a dance as well?

Oh, I don't know. If I danced that might be too much holiness for you!
