Network Noise [CLOSED]
[The feed kicks in with an accidental activation. Shuffling, loud, brushing noises herald a loud, muffled, angry, female voice.]
MORRIGAN! Where in the Maker's name am I? WHAT DID YOU DO?
[Slam! Rattle! Distortion. The louder words echo a bit in the cavernous space.]
WHERE AM I?
[Heavy breathing.]
You said I would live, but you didn't mention *this* - can you hear me?
[Deep breath. Calmer voice.]
Very well. I do not know where I am. This is not the Fade nor the Deep Roads nor anywhere I have seen in Ferelden.
[Muffled noise and scraping.]
Dear Andraste! Morrigan - please run, my friend. Loghain is going to be hunting you. Loghain... dear Maker.
CAN ANYONE HEAR ME?

Calm down a bit first, Milady, and I'll do my best to begin to explain.
[Not mocking outright, but looking superior and irksomely smug? Especially for what seems to be a dusty boy of fourteen sitting on a library table? Well, he can't help it. Loki is essentially what happens if you teach a cat to talk.]
Re: [Video]
I hear your voice, but do not know whence it comes. Please show yourself.

If you examine your belongings or perhaps the chest where you found them, you'll discover an item that emanates messages in the form of sound and images. Uncover it and we can talk much more readily.
no subject
Aha! Tis found. My thanks. A woman speaks to me as well. Is she with you?
[Elissa lifts the small box to see the it and its stylus. Suddenly, she is visible - and wearing little more than small clothes.]
How very odd.
no subject
[He means more to reassure her that her situation is precedented, since the sight of her in the ship and barely dressed is fairly self-explanatory.]
no subject
[Camera angles get all crazy as the woman studies the box with a curios frown.]
no subject
Loki Odinson of Asgard. But we're no more in Asgard than... Ferelden, I think yuo said, Milady? Welcome to Verdana. Several others in those pods have woken, myself included, to find themselves taken from home through unknown means and without any memory of how we arrived.
[He looks pretty calm about that, but he's had time to get used to it.]
no subject
Ferelden, indeed. Tis a pleasure to meet you, Loki Odinson. You say... others... have woken? Have you met others most recently from Ferelden? A blond Antivan elf named Zevran, perhaps? Or a most grumpy warrior named Loghain Mac Tir?
no subject
I haven't, I'm afraid. I haven't seen any elves at all, though I might have missed an individual human warrior. There are many of those. It's far from impossible, in any case. My elder brother arrived here after I did.
[Though... That had its own complications. Perhaps he'd better warn the lady.]
Though should you find someone from home, their memories may not entirely comport with yours.
no subject
Ill news, that - and much to take in while undressed. It seems to me as if I've not slept at all between my last memory and this, but that is not true, is it?
Allow me to dress before further pondering such weighty matters. Are you nearby amidst these... these tombs? Your kindness is appreciated and I should like to speak more with you in better surroundings.
no subject
Nay, I'm in the archives in the city nearby. If you've yet to even dress and leave the place, then there's a great deal to say.
[He considers sending Thor along to fetch her. It worked last time, but this woman isn't putting on affectations of helplessness.]
Best that you, eh, garb yourself and make your way here. The road is easy to spot and the way is... Well, not particularly dangerous. Are you armed or skilled at magic or something comparable?
no subject
I am neither mage nor helpless maiden. Considering the past several months of my life have involved walking along various roads of questionable safety, I am fairly certain that I can find this city of which you speak. Shall I ask for you at the gate, Loki Odinson? Or further inward?
no subject
[He's so used to being off-putting that her relative enthusiasm strikes him as odd.]
I'm up to my neck in papers in the Vault just now, but I can put them aside. In any case, the city is easy to make out, as it surrounds a peculiar dome that I understand to be comprised of some sort of energy and acts as a fortress for those inside it. We're in the half collapsed buildings outside that.
no subject
Interesting. [Now there is a phrase and tone she's learned from Morrigan.]
I do not wish to take you from your work, young Odinson, but you are the only soul that I know in this place aside from the woman who has gone quiet. Is there a guard at this half-collapsed city?
no subject
There are local soldiers, but new arrivals from the ship are frequent. They won't bother you. If you ask anyone, they can send you to a building generally known as the Flop, where new arrivals are housed until and unless they find somewhere they prefer. That would be the easiest landmark where I might meet you.
no subject
My thanks again, young ser. I shall gather my equipment and be on my way in less than an hour. Fare you well until next we speak.
[Another frown, another odd camera angle, and then Elissa seems to figure out how to turn off the communicator for all goes dark and silent.]
[Video] >> [Action]
[He nods, then packs up his work to go for a walk.]
[Waiting outside the flop, Loki looks even younger than he did over the communicator, since it's easier to see how short he is. Aside from a satchel stuffed with papers resting against his hip, he's perfectly unarmed and looks a bit bored, but at least in dress and manner he's not so unlike a Fereldan human as to be disquieting.]
Re: [Video] >> [Action]
[Drawing nearer, Elissa's eyes narrow.]
Loki Odinson?
no subject
[Nothing about her appearance surprises him. She would do well at home. Better than he, most likely.]
Milady Elissa? Nothing particularly toothy beset you on the way, I hope?
no subject
Nothing terrible. Only this pair of unfortunates who crossed my path.
[She jiggles the thong holding the rabbits with a gloved hand.]
Tis a pleasure to meet you in person, Ser Loki, and I thank you for kindly gifting me with your valuable time. Perhaps you would accept these rabbits as my gift?
no subject
It would be wasted on me, I'm afraid. My brother and I are both dismal cooks. There is a trader in town who's always eager for game, I understand. It might be best to take them to him.
[He does appreciate the thought, though.]
no subject
Very well. Now, what can you tell me of this entombed sleep? Do you know why we were part of it?
no subject
[He does like to lecture. Being pedantic is such fun.]
no subject
One hundred... years? So, I have been here for that long? I mean, if I was already entombed at the time of the wreck... Twould have to be that way, aye?
[softly] Dear Maker.
no subject
Perhaps. Perhaps not. I did say that there are strange discrepancies. I mentioned my brother is here. He arrived by different means, and not only is he far more than a hundred years older than when last I saw him, but he remembers our history differently than I. There's more afoot than simple abductions, and time and events are apparently all out of their proper way.
