[Hi there people of Verdana. There is a man with a dog, both trying to look especially harmless. In fact the dog's main purpose on the screen is to reassure everyone that Atticus really is nothing to worry about.]

Well this has been barrels of fun, huh? [He can't hide the slightly sheepish look, he's trying really hard to though. Publicly taking the blame for the whole... altered time reality thing isn't something he's really looking to do but he's gotta know how much of this is him and how much is... anyone else.

Someone had to screw up something along the way right? It wasn't just him.]

Just out of curiosity did... anyone [And there's just enough emphasis on it that someone remarkably perceptive might catch the quiet anyone else that is faintly implied by his tone.] do anything in particular that might have caused any of... well... time shenanigans? Not the traveling bit but the arriving part of the deal.

Hey, I know you're probably busy with all the changes but can Oberon hang out with you for a couple days? I guess the lakes are still intact but I've gotta see it for myself.

A few of us attempted to sabotage the Domes. That attempt failed, but I suspect it still may have altered things a bit. Add that to everyone else, in multiple timelines...

[Part of him really wants to tell her that he was responsible for this, that looking at things in the long term, things that would endure beyond their brief stay in the past was what had brought them here... but he doesn't really know enough about her to trust her with the knowledge that he is powerful enough to have pulled it off so he bites his tongue and flashes her a smile.]

Hey well at least something worked, somewhere along the way? And things are kind of better here now?

[Or at least he hopes she thinks so.]

Better? [She folds her arms, considering.] Possibly. But that kind of responsibility, the power to change something so drastically...

We shouldn't be using it without understanding. [If they did perfectly understand how it worked then they absolutely should. Any power can be used to change things for the better as long as it's managed. That lesson doesn't sit quite as well as it seems to with her father, but she's still satisfied with it.]

I don't like being made to play God blind.

If no one ever did anything without fully understanding it first, nothing would get accomplished. [It was the very theory scientists worked under all the time. The fact that, for the most part, he agreed with her didn't ease his guilt any. There was a reason he had hesitates so long, a reason he hadn't let himself take that risk. Now, he was glad he had, but things might not have worked out so well.]

Sometimes you have to take risks... preferably calculated risks but still.

I know. [Does she ever. Leading an army will teach you little lessons like that.] And given the choice, I may have done the same things.

But I would have liked the choice. [Don't mind the sulking. Philosophical leadership conversations are the only kind she lets herself have with most people, this is just Wanda's version of whining.]

[Philosophical leadership conversations inch a little too far into the realm of "reasons to feel guilty as Hel for all of this" for Atticus though so he just shrugs it off, his answer noncommittal at best.]

Wouldn't we all. [But if everyone had had that kind of choice he was pretty sure there would still be a lot of dead land and a lot of people that were going to die because of it.]

Still what's done is done. Guess we're all just going to have to get used to the new way things work.

Do you think we can trust the Authorities any more than we used to be able to?

I wasn't here long enough to have any dealings with them before so... Your guess is as good as mine on that one.

It might be safer not to openly distrust them, though.

It might be safer, but trying would be much more informative.

Maybe. You might have noticed but... I'm not too big on the trust thing, myself so. I'll let someone else take that leap.

I have... reservations of my own on that regard.

What I don't have is any fear.
