[Hi there people of Verdana. There is a man with a dog, both trying to look especially harmless. In fact the dog's main purpose on the screen is to reassure everyone that Atticus really is nothing to worry about.]

Well this has been barrels of fun, huh? [He can't hide the slightly sheepish look, he's trying really hard to though. Publicly taking the blame for the whole... altered time reality thing isn't something he's really looking to do but he's gotta know how much of this is him and how much is... anyone else.

Someone had to screw up something along the way right? It wasn't just him.]

Just out of curiosity did... anyone [And there's just enough emphasis on it that someone remarkably perceptive might catch the quiet anyone else that is faintly implied by his tone.] do anything in particular that might have caused any of... well... time shenanigans? Not the traveling bit but the arriving part of the deal.

Hey, I know you're probably busy with all the changes but can Oberon hang out with you for a couple days? I guess the lakes are still intact but I've gotta see it for myself.

Time Travel isn't terribly difficult if you know how, but the apparent changes that have been made shouldn't be possible if... people are doing their job. Which, if you didn't get stopped from doing more than observing means they aren't

[He sounds more than a touch grumpy about that.]

Yeah it's not so much the travelling part as the... everything's different part that I'm curious about. Time's a bit unsteady in this world I guess so that's not so surprising.

[He cocks a brow though, looking amused.] Was someone supposed to stop things from changing?

Time isn't supposed to be rewritten, it... creates instabilities. Inconsistencies that destabilize the order of the universe.

I would hope I'm not important enough in Verdana politics for my death to have made enough of a difference. That's just asking to inflate my ego.

[There's a moment where something raw and painful flashes through his eyes. A hurt that runs far, far deeper than what just losing Christine could cause. Then his expression hardens, darkens and those green eyes are bright with anger. Even Oberon's lips curl slightly, not quite a snarl but the threat is there.

The fact that she sounds like herself is dismissed as Hel or some other death deity wanting to freak him out. Since he can't look at her in the magical spectrum over the communicator means he has no way of confirming what sick creature is playing with his friend's corpse.]

What are you? Who are you to toy with the dead?

[Okay, so humor wasn't the right way to address the situation. After having her tears out in Nowhere, she was coming to terms with her death and resurrection, and she could hardly complain that the latter had occurred. It was better than staying dead.

Her expression goes from shocked to understanding within a few moments, and when she speaks, her voice is soft.]

Atticus, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have joked. But people that come from the pods in the Ship are resurrected if they die. You can ask the others. Dr. McCoy died too. You can ask him.

[So she's actually with Atticus but wisely out of shot. For now. Instead, she's just close enough that she could reach over and pet Oberon but doesn't just yet.

Instead, she's shaking lightly as she struggles not to laugh out loud. This is actually a very serious matter but it's fairly obvious the major time change was Atticus' fault. He did, after all, go after the domes.]

[Obvious to her maybe, and a couple others perhaps, but overall no one needed to know that he was the one responsible for all of this. He set his phone face down on his lap and turned his attention to her. (Okay okay it’s not exactly a phone, he knows that but it’s close enough, geez)

For a moment he tries to look annoyed and then he gives up, laughing softly.]

You could at least try to take this seriously. [An eyeroll] Just don’t let anyone hear you cracking up in the background. If you need to go have a gigglefit do it in the other room.

[She waved her hands, shaking her head.]

No! No, I am taking it seriously! I just-

[She stopped to laugh a little more.]

Come on, you're trying so hard to deflect the blame. Just own up to it. I know the Plague is hardly a better alternative but Poseidon is a bit better to live in than the Old City, you have to admit.

[Have a face you probably don't want to see, Atticus. But he remembers you, or your voice anyway, and he's going to answer. Might as well share what little he knows, right?

If it helps, he looks earnest and concerned, with a generally amiable underpining. Even better, he doesn't seem to recognize Atticus at all as anyone he ought to know.]

I am afraid not. I was in the far future of this world, as far as any of us could tell, and there was not much to be done there that could affect this time.

[Not being recognized is a good thing and again he’s struck by the oddity of how friendly this Thor seems to be. Especially since he’s made it clear he’s from a different world, one that Atticus has talked to a few people from. Now so long as this Thor never finds out the part Atticus played in the death of Thor v1.0 they should be golden.

That doesn’t change the fact that talking to Thor makes him distinctly uneasy, though he hides it well.]

So some people went forward and some went backward… that’s interesting. What the hell could’ve made everything go so wonky?

[Since Thor does recognize the voice as the one that panicked at him, at least, he is forgiving of any tension he might pick up. Though for now, since he's not the most observant godling on the planet, he hasn't picked up on anything.

Do have a slightly comical expression of confusion, though, Atticus.]

Wonky? I do not know that term. Do you mean the changes here, in this time? I cannot help you there. It surely must have come from something that was done in the past timelines, not mine.

[He pauses, then offers, with a slight smile,]

Unless the mighty tentacled beasts or bone golems from the far future have some affect on previous times. I would not put it past them.

I don't see how. One ship and a few little things going missing here and there ain't really the sort of thing that changes history like this, is it?

[But there was something not quite right here, and Briar peers at Atticus suspiciously]

[And Atticus cocks a brow at Briar, a hint of a warning in his expression. Yes, Briar you know he's more than just some dumb redhead with a dog, lets not tell everyone else that kay?]

Well if they're really important things going missing... I don't know mostly people were getting accused of treason and bombs were going off where we were which seemed to kinda be the norm.

One of those 'space' ships. Some of the others went and stole it, but I really doubt it was anything important. One ship going missing isn't going to go and cause the comes to...what is that? Who's giggling?!

My guess is that we all did. A number of relatively minor changes all compounding into major alterations.

I suppose... but this seems like a pretty drastic change to be because of a couple insignificant alterations.

I know there were a lot of people coming and going at the safehouse and I only talked to a few of them, leaving information second hand and all. But was anyone you know of talking about doing anything uh... bigger?

A few of us attempted to sabotage the Domes. That attempt failed, but I suspect it still may have altered things a bit. Add that to everyone else, in multiple timelines...

Oh man, Akito, you don't tell a dog that you're a cat person! He'll never forgive you.

If Aura was a puppy I would have still kept her safe!

[ he's always preferred dogs to cats, since dogs were so loyal and caring to the people they liked. but Aura is his to keep safe, and that makes all the difference. ]

And I thought she was a bird at first, because of her feathers.

I just want to go out to the lakes and talk to the elemental for a little bit, see how she's doing. I mean, she's alive so that's better than before but I'm not sure how much this has effected her.

[A pause and he looks a little guilty at least.]

For what it's worth I'm sorry that what I did hurt people... but the planet has suffered far less because of what I did and I cannot apologize for that.

Depends on when you landed, I suppose. Lots of us landed when Verdana was in its heydey, so I don't think we did much to change anything, though Akito brought home a cool lookin' cat.

You spirits could probably do a great deal more than you expect.... But no, you're right, I think it was mostly those of us that were in the days leading up to the building of the domes when Hyperion was under constant attack by Antiqua.
