[Hi there people of Verdana. There is a man with a dog, both trying to look especially harmless. In fact the dog's main purpose on the screen is to reassure everyone that Atticus really is nothing to worry about.]

Well this has been barrels of fun, huh? [He can't hide the slightly sheepish look, he's trying really hard to though. Publicly taking the blame for the whole... altered time reality thing isn't something he's really looking to do but he's gotta know how much of this is him and how much is... anyone else.

Someone had to screw up something along the way right? It wasn't just him.]

Just out of curiosity did... anyone [And there's just enough emphasis on it that someone remarkably perceptive might catch the quiet anyone else that is faintly implied by his tone.] do anything in particular that might have caused any of... well... time shenanigans? Not the traveling bit but the arriving part of the deal.

Hey, I know you're probably busy with all the changes but can Oberon hang out with you for a couple days? I guess the lakes are still intact but I've gotta see it for myself.

((OOC: Fari warning! Genesis might be threadjacking periodically as she is staying with Atticus now and likely hovering nearby laughing at him.))

I just want to go out to the lakes and talk to the elemental for a little bit, see how she's doing. I mean, she's alive so that's better than before but I'm not sure how much this has effected her.

[A pause and he looks a little guilty at least.]

For what it's worth I'm sorry that what I did hurt people... but the planet has suffered far less because of what I did and I cannot apologize for that.

And I can't understand that.

[She presses her lips together and looks away, as though searching for an answer offscreen.]

Oberon can stay with me for a few days. He won't mind visiting the library, will he?

[There's nothing to say. She can't forgive what he's done, he can't apologize for saving the planet. He understands why she's upset and if he didn't have 2100 years skeweing his perception of the value and longevity of humanity he was sure he'd never have been able to do it. It was all a matter of perspective.]

As long as you promise to tell him a few stories he'll be ecstatic.

Does he have a favourite sort of story?

[There's no teasing there. She comes from a world of fairies and dragons and talking crickets; the idea of a dog who enjoys a good story isn't really that strange at all.]

Most of what I tell him are histories, he really likes those. I actually promised him a tale of a samurai that I've yet to follow through on...

[He looked a little sheepish and Oberon shoved his head in the frame with a low wuff of breath that wasn't a bark but was a decidedly demanding sound, now that he'd been reminded that he'd missed out on a tale.]

I'm sorry, okay, we've been pretty busy if you hadn't noticed. Maybe Belle knows of something like that she could tell you?

[Belle shakes her head, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She's still unhappy - and that's an undersatement, really - but it's hard to remain visibly angry when beset by emotional flanking maneuvers.]

I think I remember a few tales of that sort from the lands I'm familiar with.

[Atticus can handle her being mad at him, he didn't ask for her approval and he went into it knowing he wouldn't have it. That's just fine. She's not faulting his hound for his actions and that's the important thing. Oberon likes her a lot and she is the rare kind of person that unquestioningly treats him as though he's actually as intelligent as he is.]

Oh I'm sure he'll love that. [With a smile as he ruffles Oberon's fur and then, more seriously.] Thank you, Belle.

[For being the rare kind of person that is so truly good that, despite her anger at what he's done, he still feels safe leaving his most valuable possession with her.]
