Network - VIDEO - closed to Thor (Elissa's learning!)

[The young woman on the image wears a grave expression and seems to be quietly determined. Her spoken words are more like a letter than an actual conversation.]

Thor.

I have seen you working for the past few days. Is there a time when it would be convenient for us to speak face-to-face? You are owed an explanation and an apology and so much more.

Please give me a chance to speak with you?

I do not know. I spent but one night in the Flop in the Old City before we were taken again to another place. For now, I will be living in the forest with a man named Kozmotis. He has appointed himself my guard to satisfy the metal man named Tony and the girl Haruka. Shepard seems merely cautious - and that I can understand. It seems those three are my judges.

[Elissa spreads her hands in an expressive shrug.] I understand why they do not return my weapons, but by doing so they also deny me the ability to fend for myself. I must rely upon Kozmotis for everything - even hunting. Tis vexing.

[Her frustration is obvious, though she knows why she is mistrusted. The girl's optimism has flown off with one of Akito's winds, leaving her feeling bitter and guilty.]

Ah. Then no wonder you have no home of your own, or much trust built up here.

[Tilting his head in thought for a beat, Thor offers,]

I could probably help you find a worthy occupation within the city that does not require weapons, if you would like something of your own. Work at a shop, or teaching a skill, or handling shipments. That is what I do. I make deliveries, as I can fly faster than most of the machines here.

[And he sounds inordinately proud of that, like it's a boy's first job. And, technically, it is. He's never worked a day in his life. It'll get dull before too long, but for now? He's proud of it.]

[Son of a king meet daughter of a Teryn. Elissa hasn't done much in the way of actual work, either - unless leading a band of adventurers or aiding the people of the Terynir of Highever counts. She looks embarrassed for a moment - and not at the idea of working.]

Do you think those who hold me accountable for my murderous actions would allow that? I am not certain they would want me to be away from my guard for that long. Even now, he is not too far away, but he is allowing us privacy. Thankfully, he has become more friend than jailor.

Oh?

[Thor pauses to look around for this "friendly jailor", curious and a little wary.]

I do not see why not. You have been here several days with no vicious behavior. Certainly in a few more, you can at least look for some kind of employment. It is better that, than to sit and be angry and frustrated with no release.

[Because hey, he knows how that is, too.]

[Elissa lowers her voice to a whisper as she takes a step closer to Thor.]

Kozmotis. He is my watch guard. He volunteered for the duty because he did not like the way that Haruka and Tony spoke to me.

[She lifts her voice again, expression wearied.]

Frustration seems to be a daily thing in Verdana. In more than one way. I am very glad that you are being so kind about all of this, I truly am. In a way, aside from my apparently murderous tendencies, I find you and I have a kinship of sorts. I have a feeling we come from similar backgrounds.

Oh?

[Thor can't help but be curious, there, and he cocks his head at her. And because he isn't that great with coming up with similarities on the fly, he goes with:]

You are warrior daughter of an Asgardian king? Or, I suppose a king of any sort. There is only one Asgardian king, after all, and I believe I would know if I had a sister.

I am the daughter of the Teryn of Highever in Ferelden - a title second only to the king. In fact, my father was almost chosen to be king at the Landsmeet after the death of King Maric since the king's own son was still young.

My family also has the blood of King Calenhad the Great who united the Claynes tribes into a single nation and was the first king of Ferelden, so we also carry the Theirin bloodline the same as Maric's descendants.

It appears we do have something in common, then!

[And no wonder she didn't think to get a job. She, too, has apparently never had one! Thor smiles, sympathetic but also a bit amused.]

What a strange thing, to meet another of royal blood in such a place as this. You must feel quite out of place, indeed.

[That causes Elissa to warmly laugh and her face eases into a wry smile.]

I have felt rather out of place for longer than I have been in Verdana.

[She says it like it is a country rather than a planet. IN Verdana rather than ON it.]

Thor of Asgard, would it be terribly inappropriate for you to be hugged by someone who attempted to murder you?

[Thor blinks at her, then answers with a bright smile.]

Of course not, Lady Elissa! I am quite fond of hugs, and as I do not believe you are trying to murder me now, I have no qualms with your offering.

[And he even helpfully opens his arms so she can come do it, too.]

[Something akin to relief chases over Elissa's features before she steps up to wrap her arms about Thor's torso in a tight, needy hug. Despite everything, here is likely the one person who is not going to hold a grudge and she is so relieved by it that it almost brings tears to her eyes. This man, unlike the womanizing Cailan, is truly good-hearted and worthy of respect.]

You have won an ally for life with your forgiving heart, Your Highness. I shall not forget.

[There is nothing untoward at all about her embrace. It is simply a hug full of affection and she is grateful to find someone else who isn't afraid of such displays.]

[She should be glad she didn't meet him a year ago, before his exile to Earth. He was a lot more immature, back then. He settles his arms around her, back, as warm and comforting as he can manage. While he has a lady of his own, he still is quite fond of hugs, particularly when they make someone feel better.]

There, now. It is a small thing, Lady Elissa. Though I am glad to give you relief in the matter.

[Elissa gives him one last squeeze and eases back from Thor to look up at him with a smile. He may be one of the best looking men she has ever seen, but something about his forgiving attitude toward her and that hug really reminds her of her brother Fergus and that reminder prompts a similar fondness for Thor.]

I have taken up enough of your time, but I am so very glad that we had this talk. Thank you for coming and for being so understanding.

[Patting her shoulder lightly-- well, mostly lightly; he has a heavy hand, rather accidentally-- Thor smiles down at her.]

It is my pleasure! Take care, all right? Perhaps we can visit again another day.

[She steps back from him, certain he will leave in the same manner that he arrived - and quite aware that she doesn't want to be near Mjolnir when he begins to swing it.]

I would like that very much. Be well, my friend!

[Thor steps back, as well, back out into the rain, and he sweeps a courtly bow for her before scooping up his hammer.]

Farewell, Lady Elissa!

[And then he's off, with Mjolnir swinging into a rapid circle and carrying him up into the sky. There's a good splash when he takes off, too.]
