Hello. I hope everyone has been well and able to acclimate to all the changes upon our return to this point in time. I seem to have gotten my bearings now...though it was a little difficult, especially in light of the fact someone was apparently making decisions for me in this other version of the present.

However, there is something I'm looking into. Right now my home is still at the Flop, but I'm no longer...comfortable, staying there for the indeterminate future. It isn't the same as it was before, and I'm getting the sense I might have worn out my welcome.

I was wondering if anyone I've already made acquaintance with would be willing to let me move in, if they have the room for it. I can help pay for lodging; I have steady employment here. Not much money, but enough.

Does your employment require that you be in or near the city at all times?

At all times? No, not at all. I work for the Sheriff's department and the majority of my duties is running patrols on the wilderness.

I wish we could have gotten in touch earlier. I just moved out of the Flop and into a place of my own. It's a one bedroom apartment, so if you don't have any luck, I can recommend a few places in the area that I looked at.

I know someone building a home in the western wilderness, if it is not too far away for your employment. You must help build the home, however, and if you want your own room, you must build it. I have little experience with carpentry, but I intend to try.

I might be able to use that information. It certainly couldn't hurt to know.

I'm not entirely unused to living on my own, but...having a home, even a very small one, entirely to myself would feel strange.

Interesting. Who is this person, and why are they doing this?

His name is Kozmotis and he prefers the wilderness to the city - just as I do. Tis less strange to me at the very least. I apparently come from a simpler time.

I've noticed more than a few of us come from 'a simpler time'.

We are the lucky ones, I think. The others seem so rushed and distant, but perhaps that is only my own experience with them. If you have interest in joining us in the woods, make contact with Kozmotis? He seems very open to the idea of others, so long as we all work together to build the structure.

It's sort of a new experience for me too. I had my own quarters on the ship I was on, but I liked to spend most of my time out in the common areas.

I'd like to get out of the Flop, too. You're welcome to live with us. [Little flinch at the slip-up. She hasn't even asked Kerra about it yet.] Me. And any roommates I may find. I could get a ruined place back into livable shape pretty fast. [Especially with Kerra's help. Force + hex spheres = very quick repairs. Not that Mulan's wouldn't be appreciated as well.] There's something comfortable about... [How should she phrase this...]

Considering how foreign the environment is, I'd like to make sure I know every inch of my home.

Maybe so. But even still, even knowing that, it discomforts me, coming in like this to this place and time. It feels too much like having choices taken from me, fitting decisions though they may have been. [She can't really complain about her job - she likes it, as much as she likes anything. But not remembering having taken it rankles her somewhat.]

[She nods along with the observation about the others but doesn't make any comment. It's not a sentiment she disagrees with at all, but right now she's simply not in the mood to have that conversation.]

I will have to think about it. But if I make up my mind, I will let him know as soon as possible.

I'm starting to think I perhaps should spend more time out, anyway. There's a lot that stands to threaten us here and I haven't been as involved in making allies as I would like.

Technically allies, yes. I'm sure we'd have no problems fighting together whenever a necessary cause breaks out. But how well do any of us really know each other?

I wasn't accusing you of keeping any secrets. But I know that you're a nurse, and something of an adventurer. Is there anything else that I would need to know?

Need to know? Probably not. If you're just looking for allies then knowing I'm a nurse is important if you or anyone you know get hurt. But we could be friends? And friends tend to learn more about each other over time.

I do understand that. My friends from home that made their way here -- we don't remember the same things. There have been powers altering timelines here for a long... [time? She's kind of confused herself about the grammar of what she's trying to say.]

I'll let you know. There's a lot of potential to build out in those ruins either way. We could put together a base out there, too. Just in case.

That must be difficult for you. Not to mention inconvenient. I'm sorry to hear that. [She doesn't have hardly anyone from her own time or place, herself, but at least Belle remembers her.

Also a good thought. The Authorities may appear less of a threat in this version of the world, but I would be wary of completely letting our guards down.
