Janson? This is Elissa Cousland. We have spoken before - do you recall?

Shortly after we got back and everything was crazy, right?

Yes!

I am told there is to be a festival within the city. If you are amenable and do not have a prior engagement, perhaps we could attend the festivities together one evening?

Well I've never been one to turn down a party, or an invitation from a pretty girl.

[You aren't Darth Vader's wife!]

[Elissa's smile can be heard in her voice.]

Good. I shall endeavour to learn what I can of the schedule of entertainments - if there is such a thing. Is there a specific time when your work shall interfere?

I'm on patrol Thursday night, but other than that it's all daytime stuff. And if it's like any other festival, the real fun is in the evening.

Very well - any night but Thursday. I shall contact you again, when I have learned more. Since I am living in the woods, I do not often get news very quickly, but I shall make it a point to travel into town soon.

Until then, do not be a stranger?

I'll keep an ear out for more details too.

[Also wait for his party sense to tingle]

[That brought laugh from her and just when she was about to end the communication.]

Oho! An older man with good instincts. Just the sort of fellow I appreciate. Now I shall especially anticipate this festival.

[Now Elissa is reluctant to hit the button. It is very likely her first 'No, you hang up first' experience. Wes just seems like such a fun person.]

That's the only kind of older man we had in the Rebellion. Lucky for you, mine also include instincts for fun.

Just how old are you, anyway?

[That teasing laughter is still in her voice.]

Kriff, I don't even know anymore. I've dealt with three different calendars in as many years. Thirty seven maybe? Something like that.

I know how you feel - Do we even count the time that we slept in the ship's pods? And, if so, how long was that? By my reckoning, I should be around twenty years of age. I admit tis difficult to keep track when one is gathering allies for a war.

[Oh good. Legal. That would have been awkward.]

It's confusing enough without counting in the ships. And if we really want to fuss, I'm convinced war years should count double anyway.

Oh, let us not go that far. In fact, shall we agree that the festival should be free of war stories? We can always discuss those another time.

Unless, of course, we somehow find ourselves under attack... Although that time might better be spent discussing the weaknesses of the enemy or where best to take cover.

Or how we are going to rescue the best beverages.

I for one prefer to keep war stories as far as possible from pleasure as possible. That's how you stay sane.

That and daring beverage rescues. Those are key.

[Again, Elissa has merriment in her warm voice.]

Why do I get the feeling that we are a festival incident just waiting to happen? I may actually spend good coin on new clothes for this, Wes Janson. You should feel special.

[What in the Maker's name am I going to wear?]

I have no idea. I am always on my best behaviour and have not once caused a large scale incident.

[He's actually pretty good at keeping a straight face. Especially around people who aren't Wedge or Hobbie and thus can't see right through him.]

Tch. Do not disappoint me now - not when my hopes are up. Lest you say anything else to worry me, I shall leave you to whatever you were doing when I called upon you.
